2.作业层次开放,体现自主性。

众所周知,学生在原有的知识水平、学习的接受能力、考虑问题的方式等方面的差异是客观存在的。针对以上事实,我们依据学情和教材的不同,分别设计了A、B、C三个不同层次的作业,供三类不同学业基础的学生选择。A类为教学目标所要求达到的基础作业, 人人必须过关达标;而C类为拓展提升类作业,有一定的难度,供学有余力的学生选择。 在实际操作中,学生往往会在征求教师或合作小组组长的建议的前提下,选择适合自己或者略高于自己水平的作业。这样的作业形式充分发挥了他们的自主性,为其提供了展示自我个性和能力的舞台。例如,针对“问路”,校本课程中设置的三个层次的作业分别是:A. 自编对话“ How can I get to the ?”可发挥想象:B.画出学校大门到教室的路线图, 接着叙述 “How can you get to your classroom?”C.依据课文中的核心短语进行造句。三个层次的作业有明显的难度与层次的区分,学生不用教师指导,就清楚地了解作业的难度,并根据自己的实际情况选择合适的作业。一位中等成绩的学生选择了作业B:

3.作业形式开放,体现多元性。

英语课外作业通常有复习、预习、课外阅读、书面作业、口头作业、听力作业、实践活动类作业等形式。不同类型的作业有不一样的教学效果,以达到不同的教学目的。作业的多样化能激发学生学习英语的持续热情,消除同类作业所带来的消极情绪和疲劳感。教师设置多种形式的作业时,要根据学生的实际情况来创设情境,激发学生的思维,给学生留有更多创造、发挥的空间。我校的校本课程作业在内容上设计了兼顾听、说、读、写各种技能的作业,在形式上设计了有声和无声两种类型的作业。例如,在学完Alice in Wonderland后,校本课程设计的作业是让学生续(编)写故事的结尾,不同的学生有不同的见解,这既能培养学生的发散思维,又有利于提高他们的写作水平。以下是一名学生对故事的续写:

在完成这类作业的过程中,学生能灵活地将新旧知识联系起来,运用自如,这既培养了学生收集、分析、处理信息的能力,又体现了“运用语言做事情,正确地输出语言”的教学原则,达到了学用结合、事半功倍的效果。

4.作业空间开放,体现实践性。

在教学实践中,以真实的多样的交际情境为基础、以真实的语言实践活动为依托才能完成的作业,就是空间开放的课外作业。我校校本课程中设计了如下实践性作业:对话表演、调查讨论、课本剧表演、采访报告、用英语打电话、英语故事会、英语主题班会、英语作品展示会等。 实践性作业中既有学生可以独立完成的作业, 也有需要与其他学生合作完成的作业。合作形式的作业不仅让学生学习了语言知识,也培养了他们的合作精神。另外,在学生完成实践性作业时,我们延长学生完成作业的时间,扩大作业的空间范围,而不是拘泥于当天、当周或只局限于课堂与回家完成作业。比如,在学完话题pets、语法过去时态及比较级后,校本课程设计的作业是“描述你喜欢的pet或动物,但要赋予其灵魂”。一名学生竟然写了首诗:

三、结束语

实践证明,我校在有效使用校本研发的开放性作业上取得了理想的成效,通过让学生选做此类作业,达到了激发兴趣、挖掘潜能、创新思维、拓展学习空间的教学目的,使作业成为教与学的一面镜子,成为师生情感沟通的一座桥梁。我们坚信,只要每一位教师都能包容学生的差异、引领学生的成长,科学设置的开放性作业将成为激发学生学习的动力,成为学生保持浓厚的学习兴趣和体验学习的快乐的源泉。

学力包括基础学力和发展学力，还包括继续学习、进一步发展的能力。在知识更新不断提速的今天，社会愈发地关注个人的发展潜力与发展后劲。一个没有学习能力和创新能力的高学历者也很可能走上社会后成为停滞不前的人。现在的用人单位录用人才再也不是简单地依据学历和文凭，而更看重内在的素质和能力。一项针对700余家用人单位进行的问卷调查发现：在“非常重视”的选项中排名前四位的分别是：责任感和事业心（占78%）、科研和创新能力（占70.2%）、思想品德修养（占68.6%）和专业基础知识（占65.2%）。这透露出一点：毕业生学力的高低越来越成为用人单位的首要用人标准。我们教育工作者应当清楚地了解：学力是知识能力与发展潜力的统一。

基于以上认识，我认为英语课堂教学要突出学生自主建构知识的必要性，要注意新知识和学生原有知识之间的相互关联性，要强调培养学生自主吸纳和构建新知识的能力。这种自主吸纳和构建新知识的能力不是凭空而生的，需要我们教育工作者在日常教学工作中，有

意识地培养学生的学力，注意“以身示范”，时时渗透。比如说bring up，大部分学生认为是“抚养，养育”的意思，而不知道它还有另一个意思——“呕吐”。我就将这两个意思联系在一起——“呕心沥血抚养养育”，学生一下子就记住了。又如spring up，学生们认为spring是名词“春天”，我就引导学生，根据普遍的理解，春天万物复苏，草木发芽，并利用汉语中的“如雨后春笋般”来帮助同学们共同得出该短语的另一个释义“大量涌现”，同时我也告诉学生，spring作为名词还有“弹簧”的意思，同学们很容易就联想到当它作动词时，可以表达“像弹簧”般“跳起，跃起”。我常根据自己的联想，帮助同学们尽可能少费工夫多积累词汇，并提醒他们：只要能帮助自己记忆词汇的办法就是好办法，人人都应该开动脑筋，发挥这方面的才能，并互相交流。

学力的培养并非纸上谈兵，其实施关键是要在学生的自主学习中强调突出亲身体验领悟的过程。英语的语法类别众多，内容丰富，所以可以挖掘学生学力的地方不胜枚举。比如说在英语纷繁复杂的语法的教学过程中，可以一改往日纯教师教授的方式，通过相关例子的大量呈现，引导学生通过观察、辨别、思考、分析，概括出某特定类别的共通本质特征。比如说英语中最常见但也是中国学生最为困扰的冠词问题——名词前的冠词使用，我会建议学生们查阅词典上关于一日三餐的名词supper和dinner的区别的表述：The actual definition is that supper is the evening meal； dinner is the main meal of the day. They are often the same for many families. But dinner can be had at lunch if supper is a light meal.然后对于该表述自己分析区别所在，学生都能比较容易地得出结论：表示一日三餐的名词前面不需要用冠词，而泛指一顿饭的名词则需要冠词。在日常教学中可以建议学生们经过自己的思考和与学习伙伴的探讨后，归纳总结出一系列能够帮助记忆的口诀等。比如说零冠词口诀：月季星期节假洲，呼语头衔职务前，三餐球类惯用语，学科棋类名词前。另外，为了解决多个形容词修饰同一个名词时的词序问题，学生根据平时的试题，在前人归纳的基础上加以改进，得出以下实用口诀：好美小高状其新，颜色国料用途近。

学力在英语学习中的培养并不仅仅是让学生通过自己的理解对语法进行消化，更应当关注学生阅读方面学力的培养。江苏省高考英语科目试卷满分120分，其中阅读的分值（包括完形填空20分，阅读理解30分，任务型阅读10分）占了整个试卷分值的一半。由于阅读是读者积极主动获取信息的一种创造性行为，所以它一直被认为是培养学生通过视觉感知书面文字符号并获取信息的能力的重要途径，更是提高听、说、写等综合能力的有力杠杆，所以它在英语学习中起着至关重要的作用。英语阅读教学中要尽量避免过多的形式主义、程序化的成分，更不能忽视语言学习的本质是通过语言的接触和使用习得语言。每当进行英语阅读教学时，我都非常重视培养学生语言感知能力。疑问是思维的契机，鼓励学生从发现问题开始，自己设置疑问，让学生养成在阅读中思考、在思考中阅读的习惯，要能够透过表层的文字理解，对阅读材料进行深层含义（推断性）理解和批判（创造性）理解。（吕良环，2003）要注重问题的思维广度和深度，针对语篇段落、语篇主旨、作者态度等提出具有灵活性和开放性的问题，着重于阅读思维能力的提升。

An old lady and her little white dog stood next to him. The dog， excited by the smell of the fish and chips， started to bark and jump up on the mans leg. “Do you mind if I throw him a bit？” The man asked the old lady. “Not at all，” she said， “go ahead”. So the man picked up the little dog and threw it over a wall. 学生稍作交流便会发现，能否感悟该笑话的真正笑点在于如何理解“Do you mind if I throw him a bit？”这句话。此处老妇和男子对于a bit的理解是不同的。当学生弄清楚了老妇将a bit作为throw的直接宾语，而男子将a bit作为throw的状语，就可以明白同一句话为何会被两个人分别理解成“你介意我给你的狗扔点儿吃的么？”和“你介意我把你的狗扔出去一点儿么？”从而造成笑话。为了避免理解上类似的偏差，学生们就会注重培养自己根据上下文分析句子成分的能力了。

子曰：“学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆。”拥有良好学力的人在不断增加、完善自己学识的同时，更加注重思考，他们深知认识世界的本领是自己学出来的。有人认为，诸葛亮的“事必亲躬”是造成阿斗“扶不起”和“蜀中无大将，廖化做先锋”的主要原因。蜀之败败在后期缺乏人才，诸葛亮负有疏于培养人才的责任。作为教育工作者，我们亦要有意识地培养“学才”。任何单纯要分数的行为不仅是浅薄的，而且更具破坏性。教育工作者应该培养学习者的学力，即对知识的好奇心、爱钻研的精神、积极动脑思考并提出问题的能力、寻找答案的兴趣、探寻有效的知识习得方法的能力，以及平和的学习心态和持之以恒的毅力等。
