Miss Luo was a very diligent and active student in my class. She invested a lot of time in practicing her oral and writing English, and became outstanding among her classmates. Dear Admission Office:
I am writing to strongly recommend Miss/Mr. XXXX for admission into the famous University of Waterloo.
Through teaching and informal consultation, I had chances to get to know her/him academic potentials and her/him ideals before she/he left for Canada. In my opinion she/he can be reliably graded as one of the best undergraduates here in grade students with majors in our department. Miss/Mr. is apparently a very bright student, with special interests and enjoyment in mathematics especially in passionate and innovative ways of tackling and solving various problems in mathematics. Perhaps her/his present mathematics scores in Canada could support my view. She/he has very good observatory skills in experiments and can easily glean essence from complicated concepts, phenomena or conditions. Enthusiastic for novelty and creative thinkings and as evidence for leadership potentials, she can easily influence her/his classmates in both curricular and extracurricular activities, though only within not a long period before her/his transfer from this institution to another school in Canada, a brave move toward next stage of personal challenge and fulfilment. I was particularly impressed by Miss/Mr. XXX career goal of aiming for excellence in academic education and achievements in her/his chosen field.

I am pleased to write this letter for my former student Miss Nan Li, who graduated from this College with an L.B. degree in June 1978.Miss Li was admitted to the Department of Law of this College in 1974 through highly competitive entrance examination which is conducted annually and is open to the whole nation. Even in such a selective group. Miss Li made herself distinguished. As professor and dean of the College, I have access to her records of academic work and moral conduct, In her fourth year study, I instructed her in Anglo-American Laws on Trespass. So I have known her quite well. Miss Li’s performance, like that in many other courses she taken, was excellent with a superior grade of 86 for the first semester, and 84 for the second semester. In our university and in other university here, 80 is considered “A” , the highest level. As far as I know, Miss Li wishes to continue her study in Law for an advanced degree. I am sure she has had sufficient prerequisite knowledge for the subject and certainly has the ability to undertake the st udy. I recommend Miss Li without reservation and shall appreciate your favorable consideration of her application

To whom it may concern,
please accept my recommendation for a young man , in my opinion, who enjoys a unique enthusiasm for and ability in the study of law. in all facets of fu-ping wangs record, from his academic to extracurricular to community work, i think the academic committee of your prestigious ll. m. program stands to gain an invaluable asset to next falls incoming class, if you accept this prospective student.
he has managed to set himself apart from his peers in the law department of taiwans most acclaimed university. nfu sends each year the nations best and brightest students to american graduate programs, and it is my pleasure to recommend fu-ping wang as yet another example of this excellence.
as his undergraduate professor i taught mr. wang in two classes pertaining to his major, criminal policy and criminology. he finished in the top 10% in each class. i remember his being an active member of class discussion, a coordinator and conveyor of student opinion. in all completed assignments there was special attention to detail, a special creativity and motivation in opinions and theories that was absent in the majority of his classmates. to say the least, he possesses the necessary reasoning facilities and intelligence to take on the rigorous curriculum of an ll. m. program. i am confident of this fact.
but there is more to mr. wang than just another candidate who possesses the necessary intelligence and scores. there is his unique enthusiasm for his area of study and its real life impact on the community in which he lives. one senses there is a larger call to duty when he states it is his goal to become a successful legal practitioner. i have noticed a strong affinity for placing a practical application on his academic and research focuses. while too many lawyers have entered their respective field too idealistic to placate the gulf between class and the courtroom, mr. wang has illustrated the competence and maturity to reason the difference between the abstract and the reality of this tough profession.
more specifically, i am referring to his work on the judicial reform foundation, where he began his practical legal training and volunteer work while still an undergraduate. i trust his abilities to help someday reform taiwans legal codes to match the progressiveness of its present political, social and cultural development. while many of his peers are complacent with and poised to become corporate lawyers, his place will be in the community with the people who do not possess the affluence and education to know fully their rights and duties as citizens.
i think that the uniqueness of his record speaks for itself, and i applaud his decision to attend the prestigious academic environment in the united states for her ll. m. degree. it will provide him with even more legal framework and precedents to meet the trying conditions taiwans rapidly demoractizing society will meet in the coming decades.
sincerely yours,
john wu

July 1,
Dear Sir or x x x:
I take great pleasure in recommending Ren Ren, one of my favorite students, for admission into your distinguished graduate program.
Mr. Ren was admitted in 1986 at 14 years of age into the SPECIAL CLASS for the GIFTED YOUTHS, my university s unique program that caters to the intellectual needs of unusually talented Chinese youngsters. It was a rare privilege he earned with his nearly impeccable academic performance through the years of his elementary and secondary school.
He impressed me almost as he entered into my university, a major cradle of china s scientific and technological talents. At the time, members of the Gifted Class all had to spend half a month studying by themselves the principles of calculus and then take an exam so that we could evaluate their self-study capability. Mr. Ren scored the highest grade in that exam. He also exhibited a keenly whetted mind during class discussions. To my regret at the time, his English was not as good as his mathematics or physics. But I noticed he made a point of working especially hard in improving his English during his five undergraduate years with us. By now, he seems to be at least as proficient in English as most of his former classmates in the Gifted Class.
In my experience with Mr. Ren, I was impressed with not only his extraordinary intelligence but also his ambitions and persistence. I am sure that Mr. Ren will be an outstanding student in any doctoral program that he may care to enroll in. So I would like to support him firmly in his quest recommendation into account when considering his application. I would greatly appreciate it you decide to accept him as he wishes.
Yours sincerely

As the Dean of School of Chinese Subject, Zhaoqing Middle School, I am writing with pleasure to recommend Liu Ruhua to your esteemed university.
I got to know him personally since 2008 as I was his class advisor. And I taught him Chinese. In my course, he showed his craving for knowledge.
