Tomorrow is the eighth day of the 12th lunar month on the traditional Chinese calendar. It is also the Laba Festival, in Chinese, Laba means ‘gold eighth’ and refers to the traditional start of celebrations for the Chinese New Year.

On this day a special hot rice porridge, called Laba Zhou, is eaten, which contains glutinous rice, red beans, millet, Chinese sorghum, peas and some other ingredients, such as dried dates, chestnut meat, walnut meat, almond, peanut, dried lotus seeds and etc. Eating porridge on Laba is believed to bring good fortune in the New Year. The flavor varies from place to place, in the North, it is a dessert with sugar added; in the South, salt and seasonal vegetables are put in.

This tradition has its roots in the Buddhist faith. It is said when Sakyamuni left home and strived for virtue, he fainted on the way because of hunger and tiredness. A shepherdess passing by saved him and cooked for him some porridge with glutinous rice and nuts. Then Sakyamuni sat under a bodhi tree in meditation and found Buddhism. So later the believers formed the habit of cooking Laba Zhou to commemorate it.

除夕这天，家家户户欢聚一堂，大家围坐在一起吃年夜饭。就象北方人过年吃饺子一样，我们这里的人家基本上都会准备春卷，有迎春喜庆的吉兆。年夜饭过后，大家围坐在电视机前看中央电视台的春节联欢晚会。节目的类型很多，今年我最喜欢看魔术—年年有“鱼”，我觉得太神奇了。当十二点的钟声响起来的时候，外面鞭炮声四起，礼花绽放，大家热热闹闹的迎接新年的到来。这个时候，妈妈会为每个人端上一碗汤圆，象征着团团圆圆。当然，除夕夜我兴的事还有压岁钱，爸爸妈妈、外公外婆都会给。我会让妈妈帮我保存起来，在我需要买书本或是有其它用途的时候再拿出来。

正月初一起床，妈妈早就为我准备了新衣新裤。穿上崭新的衣服，我就跟着爸爸妈妈他们到亲戚朋友家拜年去了。正月里，大家都这样走亲戚拜年，每到一家，主人都会拿出准备好的年货与大家一同分享，热闹非常。

快乐的日子总是过得飞快，转眼就到了正月十五元宵节。这时候处处张灯结彩，大家会走上街头、走进公园，赏灯游园。过完元宵节，这个春节才真的算结束了，大家又恢复了往日正常的生活，我也要开学了。

小时候我生活在乡下，和爷爷奶奶住在一起。那时候每年都会下一场大雪。还记得每次大年30的晚上，我都会拍起手大喊：“快下雪呀!快下雪呀!”第二天早晨一醒来，面对我的，果然是那白色的大雪。茫茫一片白，这是个多么美丽的世界。

现在，我却只能依靠照片来回忆了。每次看到小小的我站在雪地里的照片，我都会激动，呀，原来我也曾经那么近距离的挨过纯洁的雪。四川由于挨着西藏吧，虽然在南方却依然拥有寒冷的冬天。我庆幸，我是一个能看见雪的孩子。

终于长大了，的冬天，我还记得那是一场很大的雪，三天三夜都没有化。我还记得我和小君、小思一起堆的三个小雪人，小小的，我们却爱不释手。我还记得，小君手把手的教我滚雪球，让一个小团变得越来越大，可惜最大的时候它破裂了。不过我们还是高兴地躺在雪堆里，虽然，雪是那么冰凉。

每年冬天，我都会趴在窗户上，用冻地红通通的手画画，画的是什么呢，当然是那纯洁的雪花。

，那个冬天。接连下着雪。都是一些飘飞的雪花，可是我们却能为了一场雪的降临在楼顶上等啊等。每当下雪后，我们都会高兴地，随着雪花舞蹈，舞蹈……就在那个冬天快要结束的时候，突然，一场罕见的大雪降临了。终于，我们在楼顶堆起了一个雪人，我捏了几个雪团说，我要把它们放进冰箱里，让它们永远不化。可惜，那几个雪团被丢了，或许吧，丢掉雪团的，不知道，那或许是老天爷赐给我们的最后一场雪。

，那个冬天。没有雪，一点也没有。我买了一个喷“雪”回家，在楼顶上，我尽情地喷着。但是那些“雪”一下就没了，我悲哀地看着天空。灰灰的天空，林立的楼房。呵，雪，雪!!我在小荷的名字叫“微微雪”。当时注册的时候，我想也没想直接输入的那个名字。呵，这美丽的雪，我不知道，我什么时候才能再见到你。
