元月29日上午11时20分，高速公路同三线福鼎至宁德65公里处发生一起特大交通事故。一辆车牌号为“粤E66014”广东私家旅行车在途经该路段时突然撞向路边的护栏，车上一家9人，4死5伤。
据赶往事故现场的省交警总队高速支队范永成副支队长介绍，该车从浙江温州开往广东佛山方向，车上坐有8岁的男孩邵某和他的爸爸、妈妈、爷爷、奶奶、妹妹以及姑姑、姑丈、表姐，一家人都住在广东。事故发生后，车子严重损坏，男孩的爸爸、妈妈、爷爷、奶奶当场死亡，另外5人被送往霞浦县医院抢救。据初步判断，事故原因是由于雨天路滑，车子超速行驶。
记者电话联系上了霞浦县医院外科吴医师。她告诉记者，目前，男孩6岁的妹妹和10岁的表姐伤势最重，其他3人病情比较稳定，5人都已经没有生命危险。
当天中午12时40分许，闽侯县青口镇联丰村所在的324国道发生了一起重大交通事故，莆田中旅交通运输有限公司一辆从莆田开往福州的车牌号为"闽BY1133"的客车中途翻车，车子翻到国道边山坡下10多米深的田里，造成8人受伤，其中2人伤情较重，车主、司机和售票员没有受伤。事故发生后，有10多人从客车里爬出来自己雇车赶往福州。
目击者吴先生说，他当时正吃完中午饭，走到饭店的门口，突然看到这辆好像疯了一样，在路上打滚。接着尾部先翻了起来，整个车就滚下山坡。
在闽侯交警三中队，值班民警告诉记者，处理事故的交警又出警了，目前交警正在调查这起事故。
