A good teacher is like a shining star to students. Miss Li, my senior high school English teacher, is a shining star in my life.

With her help, I became interested in English and eventually got high marks.

need用作实义动词时，它有过去时needed。例如：

He thought that you needed a holiday. 他觉得你应该去休假。

不过，need用作情态动词时，它没有过去时，宾语从句中我们仍用need表明过去。例如：

I asked whether he need go. 我问他是不是有必要去。

She didn’t think he need worry. 她并不觉得他需要担忧什么。

假如要讨论过去的状况该怎么办呢?在之后接动词完成式，即用“need+have+过去分词”的方式——留意，它仍然只用来否定句与疑问句，可不要将它用来肯定句噢!例如：
