我们在教学人教版《詹天佑》这篇课文时, 发现与浙教版有些出入。浙教版《詹天佑》 (第十二册第20课) 介绍詹天佑开凿八达岭隧道, 是“打两口直井”, 而人教版 (六年级上册) 是“打一口直井”。到底该以哪种说法为准呢?望专家给予答复。

关于人教版小学语文教材六年级上册, 有两个问题比较受广大教师关注。一个是对《少年闰土》一课里“项带银圈”“希罕”“月亮地下”等词语的疑问;另外一个是关于《詹天佑》一课的:詹天佑开凿八达岭隧道时到底打了几口竖井?

先来谈谈关于《詹天佑》一课的问题。

本册教材正式印制前, 我们在编辑过程中发现《詹天佑》这一课有两个版本。这两个版本对詹天佑开凿八达岭隧道时有打了一口井和两口井这样两种说法。我们想, 这是个史实问题, 来不得半点马虎。

关于“詹天佑开凿八达岭隧道时到底打了几口竖井”这个问题, 我们曾专门请教过詹天佑纪念馆的专家。纪念馆的专家给我们传真了相关资料, 并耐心地作了解释:八达岭隧道在开凿时曾挖大小二井。大井在隧道中部, 就像教材中所说的那样, “从山顶打一口竖井”;小井比较特别, 它其实不在隧道上, 而是在隧道外。这里引用詹同济 (詹天佑之孙) 的一段话来做一下说明:“小井位置不在洞中, 应为洞口外直井。八达岭山洞康庄一侧洞口外, 有一段深挖路堑 (青龙桥一侧洞口处为陡峻山坡) , 小井当位于康庄一侧洞口外。当洞口外深挖路堑完工后, 作为加快隧道和深路堑开挖措施之小井, 随之自然消失。”詹同济先生所说的“洞”就是隧道。从这段文字中, 我们可以清楚, 小井并不在这段“长一千一百多米”的八达岭隧道上, 而是在隧道外。课文《詹天佑》在讲到八达岭工程时, 并不是讲八达岭这段铁路如何修筑的, 而是专门谈的如何开凿“八达岭隧道”, 所以, “从山顶往下打一口竖井”这一说法是对的。为了保证教材的科学性, 我们随后把《詹天佑》这篇课文传真给了詹天佑纪念馆的专家, 请他们审阅, 得到了他们的肯定答复。

问题讨论到这里, 我们不妨探讨一下, 为什么会有“两口井”这样的说法存在。詹同济曾为詹天佑留下的许多文字材料作注释, 他发现“八达岭山洞……洞内有几座直井, 一时颇有争议。有的书籍中, 绘图示意在八达岭山洞中部并排挖两座直井;而实地考察, 洞内现只有一座直井, 位于洞之中心里程附近。”为弄清楚真相, 他研究了许多史料, 并拜访了参加修筑京张铁路的一些工人的后人。他在詹天佑的三篇文章中找到了关于开凿直井的文字:“上列申报邮传部文中为:‘由山岭打通大小二井。’在《京张铁路工程纪略》‘山洞’一章内记述:‘八达岭山洞, 因洞身过长, 仅恃两端开凿之法, 费时必久, 故于洞身之中部开辟大井, 与两端同时并进……是井之深为八十四尺, 井径为十尺。’在京张铁路通车典礼上的英文致辞中提到, 在修筑八达岭山洞时, 曾开挖了二井。”

由此, 詹同济推断, 八达岭隧道中只有一座直井, 位于“洞之中心里程附近”, 另有一小井“位置不在洞中, 应为洞口外直井”。他就自己的推断请教了有关专家, “认为上述之断定是符合各项史料和实际情况的”。我们可以据詹同济的研究推测:因詹天佑提到八达岭工程时, 有“打通大小二井”“开挖二井”等说法, 可能有的研究受这样的说法影响, 没有深究其实质, 有的书籍又绘制了并排挖两座直井的示意图, 以致以讹传讹, 有了“从山顶往下打两口竖井”的说法。

顺便说一下, 从全文来讲, “打了几口井”这个问题并不是教学中值得花大力气的问题。课文第一句是“詹天佑是我国杰出的爱国工程师”, 随后全文从多个方面讲了这么说的原因, 八达岭隧道工程只是其中的一部分, 学生能读懂这部分内容, 体会到其中所包含的思想感情, 并能回到全文理解“詹天佑是我国杰出的爱国工程师”即可。铁道工程是复杂的学问, 八达岭隧道到底是怎样开凿的, 其中定然有许多我们无法了解的复杂因素。我们要尊重史实, 不能主观臆断, 但是我们没有必要揪着到底是一口井还是两口井这样的问题, 让学生去做离题万里的分析、辩论。网络发达了, 学生查资料方便了, 但哪些资料是课堂上可以采用的, 哪些资料只需要一带而过, 还是要服从于语文教学的真正需要。

借此机会, 我再来谈谈大家较为关注的《少年闰土》一课的问题。

众所周知, 《少年闰土》一课由鲁迅先生的小说《故乡》节选而来。《故乡》写于1921年, 用的是当时大力倡导的白话文。但当时白话文初兴, 鲁迅写作所用语汇的书面形式还保留着古汉语语汇书面形式的痕迹。为了最大程度地保留鲁迅原文的语言特点, 包括前面提到的几个词语, 我们在教材中都将其原貌保留了下来。

其中, “月亮地下”这个词语需要特别说明一下。有老师认为, 该词是“月亮底下”一词之误, 其实不然。我们不妨先看一下原文:“月亮地下, 你听, 啦啦地响了, 猹在咬瓜了。”整段文字所讲的是有月亮的晚上, 地里传来猹咬瓜的声音, “月亮地下”大致等同于“月亮地里”;如果改为“月亮底下”, 则好像刻意强调“有月亮”这样一个背景, 从整段文字来看是不合情理的。除了前面提到的几个词语外, 《少年闰土》一课中还有“素不知道”“无端”“祭器也很要防偷去”“我先前单知道它在水果店里出卖罢了”等词句, 表达上与当下使用的白话文有不同之处。教学这样的课文, 不妨先向学生简单交代一下相关背景知识。这样做, 一方面有利于学生理解课文, 另一方面, 这对学生课外阅读的顺利进行以至阅读能力的形成也是有帮助的。

教材中这样的课文虽然不多, 但并不是仅此一篇。如四年级上册编选了丰子恺先生的《白鹅》, 其语言风格与现代白话文也有出入, 但表现力相当强, 只要引导有方, 孩子读起来就会饶有趣味。现当代文学史上许多作家的作品语言相当有特色, 到了高年级, 学生的独立阅读能力达到了一定程度, 课本之外, 他们也会读到各种各样的读物, 其中自然不乏这样的作品。拿人教材版语文教材的配套读物《同步阅读》来说, 随便翻开高年级的任何一本都能看到这样的作品, 如叶圣陶的《藕与莼菜》 (五年级上册) 、冰心的《和小鸟最相亲爱》 (六年级上册) 、冯亦代的《我的母亲》 (六年级下册) 。语文教材的学习, 根本目的在于阅读能力的形成, 教学中应时刻不忘这一点, 立足于课文又不囿于课文。帮助学生积累必要的背景知识, 可以为他们能够更好地自主读书搭建桥梁。

在小学英语课堂上,教师喜欢给学生呈现解决问题的情境,利用所提供的场景和已知有关经验和知识,完成学习任务。但是很多教师往往忽略了教学活动中的评价过程。根据新课程理念, 科学的、合理的、有效的、及时的评价能促进教学和学习,充分体现学生为主体的价值需要。如何让学生积极地参与评价,了解自己的不足和差距,及时改正学习是教师们在教学过程中需要思考的问题。我以牛津小学英语六年级上册Unit 6“ Keep our city clean”(story time)进行实践,设计了下面的案例。

二、案例呈现

本课的话题是“城市环境卫生”, 这是当下人们讨论的热点。“面对严重的环境污染,我们能做什么?”结合时事,我引导学生发现城市环境问题,思考解决问题,以自己的城市为例进行调查与讨论,提出保持城市整洁的建议, 从而使学生增强环保意识,从我做起, 保护与热爱城市环境。

课的开始,展示两组城市的图片, 一组是20年前风景优美的城市,另一组是现在污染严重的城市,对比强烈, 让学生自由思考与讨论,引出课题,为后面的教学环节作铺垫。

导入时,把城市的主要污染源用连环画的形式整体展现给学生,在此过程中,为学生搭建语言框架,逐步引入新句型,并从宏观上感知课文主题,引导学生进入任务情境,小组合作完成任务。 片段如下:

T: What makes our city dirty ?

S: Smoke from cars./Smoke from factories./Many rubbish...

学生能快速并正确地汇报小组内的讨论情况。当一位学生汇报完成时, 其他学生能快速做出判断,发现错误, 及时地纠正。教师与学生们分享自己的思考,让学生来评价老师,可以用星星来表示评价等级。

对活动任务进行总结性的评价,同时让学生自我评价,评判自身对知识了解的掌握情况,及时地发现问题,改正错误,这也促使学生自主意识的加深, 使其学会反思。在story time部分,教师构建有效的情境,出示环境污染的情况以及解决措施,并设计了三个学习任务,帮助学生对课文的理解:

(1)Watch and answer。教师采用 “任务型”教学法,让学生学会带着问题、 观看动画、自主学习。通过问答、讨论, 教师引导学生学会用“can”来提出建议。 在这部分的学习中,教师充当“引领者”, 帮助学生获取重要信息,抓住重点,掌握有关如何保护环境整洁的句型。

(2)Read and act the story in roles。 给予学生充分的时间和信任,自由选择合适的方式演绎课文。学生能对任务过程中出现的一些语言上的小问题进行反思和评价,运用星星对其他学生在完成任务的过程中的表现进行评价。这样有利于培养学生的综合发展的能力,使其注重学习过程,关注学习结果,促进其语言学习和运用能力的发展。

(3)教师创设真实的情境,让学生运用所学知识总结城市环境污染的原因,并发出保护环境的倡议书。在强化教学内容的同时,学生的情感也得到了升华。

Homework的设计不再是机械式的抄写课文和单词,而是通过设计环保标志,让学生学会在生活中“使用英语”。

三、案例反思

(1)让学生在完成任务中学会评价。教师在设计教学任务是为了引导学生在完成学习任务中掌握新知,培养其运用语言的能力。对于任务的开展和完成情况,教师会进行预估,但是往往学生会出其不意,偏离了教师的设想。这就需要教师引导学生完成任务后,对任务过程中所出现的问题进行反思和修正,这不仅有助于培养学生的自主学习的意识,又能促进其语言的输出质量。 教师可以采用自评、小组内互评等方式。

(2)让学生在情境中学会评价。 情境教学经常运用在小学英语课堂之中,创设真实的情境能激发学生学习的兴趣,使其更好地理解和运用所学的知识,所以在情境教学中的评价要更为真实和丰富。由于每个学生的已知经验和知识不同,评价的方式也要多样化,教师要重视学生取得的进步,多进行鼓励和赞扬,要注意表现性评价和发展性评价相结合,也可以将评分分为不同等级, 例如,在本课案例中,用星星的数量来表示评价等级,让学生根据自己的学习情况进行有效评价。
