There are varied ways of defining tourism. Some people regard it as a pollution-free industry; others think of it an invisible school, Both are based on an accepted fact that tourism cannot only produce profits bearing no pollution along with, but help broaden knowledge and fortify healthy. Aside from the above there exists awidespread theory, claiming that whatever is of the ability to increase in capital belongs to productive industry. In this sense, tourism should hold a position in the scope and ought to be treated as such.

It is true that there is some sense in the theory, yet another equally or even more important aspect should be granted more publicity to. Tourism, in terms of its objective purposes, has a social function which contributes to human communication. Coming from vadous social backgrounds, having motives and goals of every kind, tourists get together, draw close and exchange ideas of their own, from which a fresh state of mind will be created. So what kind of production is it? To the question we should have good reason to give a proper answer: it is a spirit production, a reproduction of relations of production. And the more frequently such exchanges are made, the more good they will do to promoting social and economic development of the mutual. If it is the case that making money through tourism means a dent we have made, so it foretells a fortune to provide cultural service along with tourism. Therefore, to keep close eyes on the latter involves changing our minds first, that is, tourism is by no means a pure economic concept, but takes plenty of ideological activities as its content.

To sum up, unlike other economic forms, the profits from tourism economy cannot be measured completely by means of how much output value, profit, and foreign exchange it will produce. In addition to the reputation of pollution-free industry, its social and far-reaching profit should be probed more deeply. As such the existing scenic spots ought to be kept in good maintenance, and some new ones exploited. Moreover, constructing first-class soft and hard surroundings is desired to attract tourists, the foreign and the domestic。
Shanghai is not only a famous city in China, but one of the most flourishing metropolises in the world. I dream of going there for a three-day holiday, because I’m so crazy about amazing modern cities.
When I’m in Shanghai, I’ll go to Nanjing Road Walking Street at first, which is the busiest shopping center in the downtown area. Next, I’d like to take a walk on the bund, where I can see many western-style buildings showing us an elegant picture of the foreign life. It can be regarded as an open-air museum of architectures. At noon, I want to eat some delicious snacks in Garden Yu. After lunch, I plan to have a sightseeing tour at the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is the third largest tower in the world. As I enter into the East Pearl TV Tower, I can visit Shanghai History Museum. This is an excellent place to know more about history, culture and custom of old Shanghai. And I will also climb to the top of that tower to have a bird’s eye view of the whole city, so as to have a better understanding of that modern metropolis. In the evening, all skyscrapers have their glorious neon lights on. Look, decorations of neon’s make that city more brilliant. Then I will use my cell phone to capture that most splendid view, in order to keep it in my mind forever.
This is my strong wish. I hope it will be realized this year.

My self-service travel in Lijiang
As a young female, I enjoy traveling very much.Travel is not only a healthy form of sport, but also a good means of broadening one’s horizons.In particularly, the self-service travel can provides us a good chance to improve our adaptability and viability.In the year of my graduation from the university, I had been to Yangshuo in Guilin with my three best college friends.It was my first self-service travel.Before the start, we had made a close study of travel strategies [strætədʒis], and had arranged travel route, travel time, and all the other matters during travel.I had reserved round-trip hard-berth tickets from Guangzhou to Guilin, it was much cheaper than take a plane.We had spent four days sightseeing in Yangshuo.In the first days we had strolled along the bank of the Lijiang River and enjoyed beautiful rural scenery;and the next day we had floated down the Yulong River by bamboo raft to appreciate the sight of the beautiful mountains;after that we had ridden bikes on the path across the field and tasted local cuisine.The whole tour had taken our seven days, and just cost on average 700 Yuan per capita.During the travel in Lijiang, I had seen with my own eyes many places just read in books before, I had met strangers and learnt how to deal with people better.The travel also had exercised my body.So
