一、漏译

所谓漏译, 是指译员未能将原文的意思忠实而全面地翻译出来, 其表现为对原文中的字、词、句的漏译。这种漏译导致原文在转化为译文时, 流失了部分信息, 使译文读者不能获得应有的全部信息或不能理解译文甚至会造成误解。导致漏译的原因可能有:1.译者粗心或片面追求翻译速度;2.译员阅读能力差, 对源语言掌握不够或缺乏相关专业知识。这就不仅需要译者养成严谨的翻译精神, 更需要提高自己的阅读、表达能力, 实现输入与输出的顺畅性。

例:The norms start with the princi¬ples of nondiscrimination, that is, the principles of most favoured nation treatment and national treatment.

【原译文】:这些准则首先是非歧视原则, 即最惠国原则和国民待遇原则。

【分析】:此处“the principles of most favoured nation treatment”中“treatment”未译出, 应译为“最惠国待遇原则”。

【参考译文】:这些准则首先是非歧视原则, 即最惠国待遇原则和国民待遇原则。

二、误译

误译是翻译当中最致命的错误, 其形式多种多样, 导致其形成的原因也各不相同, 下面将对译文中出现过的部分误译做下详解:

例:Yet, at the same time, we see that the scrutiny of the norms remains contained by the WTO's long-standing preoccupation with the role of 'government measures'.

【原译文】:然而与此同时, 我们看到WTO长期以来对“政府措施”的作用有成见, 因而对准则的审查受到这个成见的局限。

【 分析 】 : 此误译是由于词意分析不当造成的。“preoccupation” 本身确实有“成见”的意思, 但在原文它与“with” 连用, 构成词组“preoccupation with”, 其意思为“专注于, 关注于, 关切等”。

【参考译文】:然而与此同时, 我们看到WTO长期以来关注于“政府措施”的作用, 因而对准则的审查受到这种关注的局限。

三、语序混乱

英文中经常出现长难句, 其结构复杂, 若专业知识不扎实, 译者极易分析错误, 使译文扭曲原文意思, 背离翻译的本意。因此, 译者需加强自身的基本功, 逐词逐句分析长句, 真正理解其意, 避免出现此类错误。

例:Of course, the success of the program depends essentially on how compli¬ance with its norms suits different perspectives and interests.

【原译文】:当然, 计划的成功主要取决于遵守其准则在多大程度上适应不同观点和利益的需要。

四、标点符号使用不当

标点符号在文章中担任着非常重要的作用。一个标点符号的错误, 可能会引起歧义, 甚至会导致整个句子的句意模糊, 意思错误。出现标点符号错误有以下原因:1.平时没有养成正确使用标点符号的习惯, 使用时随意性强, 规范性差;2.不明白标点符号的正确用法, 不能在中英用法中进行正确转换。因此, 译者应加强其知识, 做到正确使用标点符号, 避免出现此类错误。

例:If the traditional preoccupation is with deregulation at the national level, we begin to see how the norms also allow, authorise and even pre¬scribe different kinds of legalities.

【原译文】:如果说, 传统的关注点是在国家层面上撤销规制, 那么我们现在开始看到了, 这些准则又是如何允许、授权甚至规定各种法律制度的。

【分析】:译文“那么我们现在开始看到了, ”是指看到了前面的, 还是后面的?易引起歧义。根据原文上下文, 更倾向于跟后面相连接。

【参考译文】:如果说, 传统的关注点是在国家层面上撤销规制, 那么我们现在开始看到这些准则又是如何允许、授权甚至规定各种法律制度的。

五、错别字, 错词等

译者在翻译中, 或因翻译量巨大, 或因时间紧迫, 或因个人文化水平, 或因个人翻译习惯, 常常会出现错别字之类的低级错误, 有时几个, 有时则多不胜数, 严重影响了译文的质量。因此, 译者应提高自己的职业素质及文化水平, 尽量避免错别字这类错误的出现。

例:A key example is their concerns with the negative spillovers of policies adopted in other countries, such as the destructive tendencies towards regulatory competition.

【原译文】:一个重要的例子是, 它们担心其他国家所采取的政策会产生消极的彩响, 例如对规制竞争的破坏性倾向。

【分析】:出现错别字。文中“彩响”应改为“影响”。

翻译中出现的错误形式多样, 原因复杂, 以上仅仅是对译文中出现的部分错误加以分析, 提出解决办法。总之, 译者若想有高质量的翻译作品, 必须加强其专业技能的培养, 提高其作为翻译的职业素质, 不断强化其翻译实践, 在实践中获得成长。
