马四一开始是在学校门口摆小摊的，没几年就发了。后来又承包了学校大门口的小卖部。他的钱越赚越多，肥得快流油了，俗话说：“奸商奸商，无商不奸。”马四也一样，钱越多买卖越奸了。

每天，马四总站在学校大门口，等待着“出界”和“进界”的人。

马四还有个习惯，那就是对每一个人都不放心，生怕人家占他一点便宜。你买了物品还没走几步，马四就把你喝回来，又让他把刚买的物品拿出来，好让他再仔细检查一番。马四把物品抖一抖，翻一翻，数一数，确定没多给你后，又用狐疑的目光把你全身上下仔细打量一番，瞅瞅你是否是个有点小偷形象的人。

马四也有高兴的时候，那就是一伙同学一起去买东西。马四会满脸堆笑，阴阳怪气地说：“亲疙瘩，买啥呀?我还不知道你们的脾气，拿上200块钱，也要一毛一毛地花，舍不得大气点?”接着又热情地给你介绍新商品，那热情的程度非让你把口袋里的钱掏尽不可。
