一、信度与效度的相互关系
孙成岗指出:信度是指语言试卷的可靠性, 它反映了测试结果与试题, 试题与被测试者之间的关系。桂诗春认为:如果在一次考试中所有学生的成绩接近, 则试题的可靠性就不高;如果被测试者的成绩间隔性较大, 可靠性就较高。因此信度较高的考试其结果要有一定的离散度要呈“正态分布”。也就是说我们在测试中使用信度较高的试题就可以把不同层次的学生区分开来, 并且试题的难度要适中, 这样才能区分被测者的水平。考察的内容必须处于学生的最近发展区内, 如果测试超出学生的最近发展区或远低于学生的现有水平, 甚至考出的成绩都比较集中在某个分数段, 那么测试也会失去可靠性。综上所述高考试题应该处于学生的最近发展区, 测试出不同学生的水平, 同时在高考中应该给学生创造良好的考试环境和条件, 通过可控部分的组织和实施进一步提高测试的信度效度。
二、对2016年高考英语Ⅰ卷阅读部分信度与效度的分析
本文2016年高考全国英语试卷Ⅰ卷阅读部分为分析对象, 总体来看全国卷高考英语Ⅰ卷阅读部分采用一加一的命题模式, 即传统的单项选择题加任务型阅读的形式, 分值达到40分, 约占总分值的26.7%, 所有试题均可用机器阅卷, 这使得评卷工作简单易操作。
整体来看全国卷的信度很高, 可靠性强, 能真实的反应学生的语言水平。第一从全国卷阅读部分内容涉及到了方方面面, 强调选材的种类繁多、与现代生活接轨还应具有生活气息。今年的全国卷阅读内容大多都是从国外的英文图书、报刊、网络媒体上选取的, 不仅反映出地道的语言特点还透露出浓浓的文化气息。具体来说, 第一篇阅读是应用文, 主要谈到了社会贡献问题, 并围绕四个女性的社会贡献展开;第二篇是说明文, 主要讲解了美国老年人也加入到照顾下一代的大军中;第三篇为记叙文, 简要的介绍了志愿者运输造血干细胞的经历;第四篇为说明文, 介绍了在不同文化背景中“沉默”的含义;任务型阅读主要介绍了加密这种高科技。全卷基本涉及到了人文地理各个方面的内容, 能较好的反应学生的语言概括归纳和逻辑推理能力。全卷重点考察学生对语言的概括能力, 要求学生在阅读中能简单梳理文章的字面意思的同时, 还能透过表面看本质能合理推断、分析文章的隐含意义。不得不提的是此次考试加强了在语境中推断词语的能力。因此2016年全国卷能用来评判学生的语言能力具有较强的信度。
除此之外虽然2016年的全国卷阅读部分的难度相对于15年、14年等难度有所下降, 主要体现在对词汇的合理利用和对句子结构的分析上, 但一些虚拟句长难句仍然大量存在, 比如:If it weren’t for Rachel Carson, the environmental movement might not exist today.Her popular 1962 book Silent Spring raised awareness of the dangers of pollution and the harmful effects of chemicals on humans and on the world’s lakes and oceans.如果学生对于虚拟句不理解就无法理解作者的意思。不理解就会对文章理解上出现偏差。因此今年的全国卷从题材上和句子形式结构上的效度还是很高的。但测试的效度不高是不可忽视的。第一, 高考英语阅读部分采用单项选择题型, 对学生能力的测试主要体现在识别接收语言方面, 而在有效输出语言方面存在一定的欠缺。单项选择题作为一种消极的测试题型, 偏重考察学生的阅读认知能力。包括对文章信息的理解、从文中提取有用信息、在归纳的基础上对设置的题目进行推断的等, 主要考查学生获取信息的能力、预测推断的能力和分析概括的能力。而对于语言的输出方面的考察相对比较欠缺。第二, 语言学习的最终目标是运用语言去完成交际活动从而能完成某项任务, 换句话说就是把语言作为人与人之间交流的一种工具, 通过沟通达到思想上的交流, 进一步完成任务, 但是单项选择这种四选一的测试很难对学生的综合语言运用能力进行全面的测评, 这样就有可能出现学生的测试结果很好但实际语言能力却不高的现象。第三, 单一的单项选择题带来的是负面的反拨效应。并且这种反拨作用时时刻刻都在影响着英语阅读的教学甚至测试, 不难发现各种各样的阅读方法中总是不是有排除法、猜测法的出现, 直接阻碍了正常的阅读教学的进行, 不利于提高学生的语言综合能力。
三、任务型阅读 (七选五) 的信度效度分析
随着语言测试的不断完善和发展尤其是交际语言测试 (communicative language teaching methodology) 引入我国, 得到了教育部的高度重视, 新课标更是提出了应该培养学生的语言知识、语言技能、情感态度、学习策略及文化意识等交际型人才培养目标。与此同时美国应用语言学家Bachman认为, 交际语言能力是把讲述着的知识和语言功能的场景特征联系起来, 创造并表明意义的能力, 换句话也就是说学生在设定的语境中使用语言的能力, 由于传统阅读四选一的单项选择的局限性, 全国卷设置了多项选择的考察形式让学生在阅读基础上, 从七个选项中找到合适的填到文章的空缺部分, 文章共有五个待选题, 而选项设置了七个, 因此部分选项是多余的, 要求学生在理解文章的基础上完成文章空缺的内容, 填充文章中5个待选部分, 它主要测试学生将文章内容与选项相联系的能力及找寻相关信息、提炼词语, 完成文章结构的能力。这样以来就可以很好地考察学生的运用语言能力, 学生为了使文章更加符合逻辑通顺, 就会在设定的选项中选择合适的。这种任务型阅读一方面能测试出学生对文章的理解, 另一方面又能检测学生从文中筛选出有用信息, 完成任务的能力, 因此任务型阅读同时测试了学生的输入性语言能力和输出性语言能力是一种信度和效度都很高的有效测试形式。因此, 相对于单项选择题来讲, 任务型阅读 (七选五) 的多项选择题具有较高的效度。不难看出从英语全国卷的题目设置中命题者越来越考虑到新理念的要求, 对未来阅读教学将起到一定的正反拨作用。
四、发现及建议
2016年全国大范围采用全国卷, 试卷的难易相同、评分试题水平、评卷标准、考场监考等都趋于一致性, 在促进教育公平, 评价更加专业化一致化的同时, 我们还必须理智的看到教育改革任重道远, 任务型阅读测试形式内容还需要不断的创新和改进, 现阶段的任务型阅读对学生的要求只是局限在从规定的选项中选择, 而不是自己填写空缺部分, 所以, 任务型阅读测试实质上还是测试学生对词语的理解上, 比喻词性、词的搭配、短语的运用、词的时态与语态等问题上。但是英语测试的核心是检测学生使用语言的能力, 这种能力具有全面性和综合综合性等特点。目前任务型阅读题型仅仅限于词语运用, 这不利于最终测试目标的实现。阅读测试的效度还有进一步提升的空间。因此, 本文认为可做小幅度的整改, 提高试卷的信度和效度, 可将原先的任务型阅读七选五单选题替换成学生书写句子, 学生书写的句子可以从上下文的推断中得出, 也可以是对原文中的某句话进行改写, 这样既可以降低难度提高信度又可以将测试提高到运用语言的层面上。但是这将会对评价带来不少难度, 需要制定相应的评价制度以确保测试的公平性。
2016年全国各省份逐渐开始使用全国卷, 全国卷的重视程度大幅度提升, 而在英语中阅读因其能综合的考察学生的语言综合能力, 越来越受到关注。因此接下来全国卷的阅读必须把信度效度提上去, 确保测试的信度和效度处于一个很好的平衡状态。最后英语测试的根本目的是真实反映学生的语言能力。因此为进一步提高全国卷英语阅读测试的信度效度, 可以提高主观试题比例力, 力求测试的形式各种各样, 同时评价制度也随之进一步不断完善等方面深入探讨。总之考试的形式、题材的选择、试题的难度、选项的设置等对未来阅读教学将起到一定的引导作用, 因此通过不断完善考试形式能引导未来英语阅读教学的发展。也希望本文能对当下的新课改英语阅读方面的研究发展有所帮助。
