让我感觉最深的特点是，每一个人物的存在和功效都是满打满的。为什么要提到普洛斯小姐的混账弟弟，因为后面要靠他翻盘;为什么卡顿一定是一个被人生大浪击倒的“律师”而不是别的什么职业，因为最后要靠他高超的专业素养进行谈判而达成他生命中最重要的计划。
关于人性，我想最真实的可能是德法奇夫妇。从德法奇太太身上，我们能看到被复仇笼罩的人是有多么的坚如磐石，刀枪不入流水不侵，我们会埋怨她为什么不能就事论事，莫因血缘姓氏就一棍子打死好人，但那是幼时真实遭受血亲消亡的灵魂，它的扭曲可以不被原谅，但是绝对不能不被理解;对照存在的德法奇先生也很真实，有同样坚决的、教养不高的、痛恨贵族的心，但也有丝丝裂纹，会为无辜的敌人家庭阵痛，但是刹那间淹没在洪流中。最后，达奈为了救一个在我们看来不是很值的人回国那里让我感受到了非常典型的义的形象，卡顿非常有力地显现出爱的力量，尤其是在他先前堆砌形象的对比下。
我想我们要感受这些东西，因为在现在的我们看来，某些人物过于理想化，因为呈现了某些太好的品质，而不够真实。但是教育意义是有的，经常耳濡目染，不要因为不相信美的存在就不想变美，还有有点用的。
我是读完这部文学作品之后立刻写这篇读后感的，真是太精彩了，抑制不住自己内心的激动。特别是读到最后两三章的时候，原先迷茫如大雾般的情节慢慢地似受到初生的阳光而将迷雾驱散后的天空一般明朗起来。怪不得作者狄更斯自述，这部小说使他“深受感动，无比兴奋”，并且渴望能亲自在舞台上扮演西德尼•卡顿；在我看来，西德尼•卡顿确实是一个能让人“深受感动，无比兴奋”的人物，虽然我一开始对他的出场没十分感兴趣，只是一个放荡君子而已；最后兄妹两人相继奔赴断头台的那个场景真的让我泪如雨下。尤其是最后的留言，包含了小说的结局，又显示了西德尼•卡顿的性格，以及让我们再次看到了人性的善良之处。“我所做的，是我一生做过的最好、最最好的事情；我即将得到的，将是我一生最安详、最最安详的休息。”，确实是五段催人泪下的“临终告别词”。
首先，对于人物，稍微做一点个人见解。
就按人物的出场顺序，第一个就是贾维斯•洛瑞。从后面的描写来看，他是一位兢兢业业的为银行工作的职员，极度忠实于银行以及后文中遇到的朋友亚历山大•马奈特。他起码在银行里待了几十年吧，从作者风趣的描写“在台尔森银行各式各样的幽暗大橱小柜之间，一些年迈老头郑重其事地在办公。每当雇用一个年轻人进伦敦台尔森银行，他们总是把他藏起来一直放到老，像块干酪似的把他藏在一个阴暗的角落里，直到他浑身有了十足的台尔森味，长满斑斑青霉。”中就可以看出。而对于他极其重要的工作都可以置之不理的就是对老朋友的关心与帮助。我记得在文中确实写过一处，为了老友他可以连工作都放在一旁。还有在露西结婚后她父亲的发病，也使洛瑞先生很不安：“洛瑞先生度日如年，希望越来越渺茫，心情也越来越重。”、“洛瑞先生由于焦急不安地日夜守护，弄得精疲力竭，竟在值班时睡着了。”、“不过这时他突然犯起疑来，怀疑自己是不是仍在梦中。”都到了这种身心疲惫的程度了，可以看出他对朋友一家子的友谊有多深。还有，最后要不是有洛瑞为他们准备行程，较坦然地通过各个验收，光凭后面一个惊恐的女人，一个昏厥的男人，一个弱小的小孩，一个神志不清的老人，再怎么逃也逃不出所谓“人民”的魔爪的。
再一个人物就是露西了。她本人的出场就已经敲定了她是一个富有同情心的弱小而又坚强的女子。对于被囚禁了十八年的老父，她用自己的爱帮助他走过一个个难关。她先找回了自己的父亲，帮他脱离的肉体上的束缚，而对于父亲那深刻入脑海中的不定期的苦难的回忆，只有她才能最快、最轻柔地安慰住父亲那不定的心，这一点是连老友洛瑞都束手无策的。还有的就是在法庭上的作证，她相当地用情，“面对着这样的同情，这样动人的青春和美貌，被告此时的心情，比面对所有看热闹的人群要难受多了。”等等描写的句子都显得露西极有同情心；最终吻别丈夫的时候，她还是坚持下来了，和所有面对悲剧的人一样，坚强地面对；虽然后来还是有些力不从心，但她还是爱的化身。说道女儿不免要提到她的父亲。亚历山大•马奈特的身世很值得人去琢磨，到底受到多大的冤屈，多大的经历，多大的思想创伤，都令我们去思考。他受到女儿的关心后，同样地力所能及地回报他的女儿。他最终展现的，是一位作为父亲，用爱关心自己的女儿的情节。同样的，本人认为他也有他的极大的不幸。这号人物的身世十分坎坷，而最终并为实实在在地为女儿带来幸福，旧病复发，满屋子寻他的活计，就是这时，他才显得苍老又无依无靠。一个悲剧导致另一个悲剧的发生。
对于达内，这个人一般般，追寻着母亲的理念而“引发一系列的事端”（这里并不是对他的否定）。他其实也是内心善良的人，由于这个使他因小小的求救就回去致使自己与一家人都陷入了困境。这也是一系列错综复杂的原因导致的结果。
其中最富有传奇色彩、最令人落泪的要数西得尼•卡顿了。出场时的情况“一直看着天花板”显出他的放荡不羁，而后来我们发现他实在是一个被湮没的才子，有才而在无法溶入当时的社会。内在的情感也很高尚，最终是成全了情敌（姑且这么说，但是还没有觉得他俩的关系真的像以往故事中说的那种斗得你死我活的，恩，这里也看出他的心平气和了，或许是装的？如果是装的，那么就说明他很有才干了。真是一个够令人钦佩的人物。）。在帮助达内越狱的时候，他还是那么一幅什么都不在乎的样子，但只有他在那时心里是最清楚的，应该怎么做，不应该怎么做。昏死的达内和他的妻子，纪念他的死是天经地义的事！最后的他于他的妹妹的相遇，上刑场，安慰、鼓励他妹妹，真是一种看尽人生的超脱，小说也写了“那天晚上，巴黎城里人谈起他，说是历年上吉萝亭最平静的一个。不少人还说他表情神圣，像是先知的预言家。”这个人物的设订还是很扣人心弦的，比如在要去监狱帮达内越狱之前和洛瑞先生交代之后，“卡顿走进院子，在那儿独自呆了一会儿，仰望着她屋里的灯光。他轻声地向它祝福，道一声‘永别了’，边消失在茫茫的黑夜里。”我在看这句的时候，心里隐隐地觉得有些不对，但是又因为前文交代了卡顿要洛瑞等他的，也想不出有什么会变动的。这句就有些淡淡的伤感，想让人哭但又不让人哭出来的味道。这个就是卡顿内心的描写，轻浮浪荡的表面下藏着一颗对他人的爱而不顾献身的人的心。
反派人物特别是德发日太太，可以说是以人民的利为幌子而复仇的一个深谋老算的人物。她最平常的动作就是编织，一句话都不说，但是样样事都记在心里，记在她的毛线上；像这种人都会使人对她有一种惧怕的感觉，冰冷、毫无人情的化身。他们身边的雅克三号，复仇女等等都属于一种瞎起哄的，只觉得能从砍别人的头中得到一种快感。他们根本没有像德发日太太的那种觉悟，只是对生命的亵渎，从他们凌乱的外貌和败坏的礼仪就可以看出。对于德发日，他虽然想推翻国王，但是对于自己以前服侍过的老主人，还是有一定的隐恻之心的。他妻子也说了，要她自己动手，他丈夫“老实想救那医生一家”，可见德发日还可以算得上中立派，但事实强迫他对主人一家动手，他就是活在矛盾之中的，可能受他复仇心强烈的妻子的影响。
这本小说悬念很多，铺垫很充实，是那种越看越明白的，就像一条条小溪逐一地汇聚，最后成了奔腾的大江，使人越看越激动，越想看下去。举例，最突出的就是第二部第六章《成百的人》和第七章《侯爵老爷在城里》毫无关系，如果把第七章单独拉出来，也可以成为一本小说。直到后面才看出他是关系到达内的身世，再后来看出了关系到露西，再后来看出了他关系到老医生，最后伴随着医生的信件，复杂的人物关系一览无余，对阐述人物关系，有很好的辅助作用。无疑，最后两章是高潮，最令人激动的部分。最后兄妹的相认是超乎我想象的，作者这样安排无疑突出了卡顿，他是一种正义的象征。现在冷静下来，觉得要思考一下为何兄妹会全部关在里面的。我觉得最根本的原因就是这场大革命在作者眼力本身就是混乱的，无人权可言，疯狂的民众只按自己的意愿办事，那终究导致悲剧。
这部作品终究还是善与恶的对抗，善的胜利，令人激动地收场了。让我们深思的，复仇到底是否值得人们去做，但是德发日太太的复仇之心不是那么一日造就的，是对死去的哥哥，姐姐，父亲的回应；是阶级斗争的烙印，无可避免地形成复仇的观念，造就她冷
冰冰的性格。说到底造成这种结果，各方面都要负一定的责任，社会环境也是一个不可分割的因素。
这是一个以两百多年前的两个伟大的城市为背景的故事。浓雾弥漫，车灯摇曳不定的伦敦，绝望、颓废的巴黎的最底层。
对于当时那场发生在巴黎的轰轰烈烈的大革命，太多人花了太多的笔墨去描述它。这对法国来说是一场具有重大意义的转变，甚至对于欧洲，对于整个世界来说也是如此。作者狄更斯，是英国最杰出的现实主义批判作家之一。虽然他没有亲眼目睹，却依靠自己丰富的想象力看到的当时的景象。
《双城记》被誉为描写法国大革命的最杰出的代表作，我想最大的原因可能是因为它的与众不同。和其他的作品，比如卡莱尔的《法国大革命》不同，狄更斯更注重的是底层人民的喜怒哀乐。尽管在那个时代，这些小人物本身并不能引起世界的关注。但是作者敏锐的捕捉到这些小人物和大革命有着千丝万缕的联系，可以说法国大革命本身就是有小人物们的力量所引发的。
在这部作品里，我看到了很多很多不同的人。正直善良却惨遭迫害的马奈特医生，美丽温柔的露西，优雅高尚的查尔斯，忠厚老实的洛瑞，外表冷漠、内心热情，放荡不羁而又无私崇高的西德尼，扭曲了人性的德发奇太太，豪爽忠诚的普洛士小姐，残忍阴险的埃佛瑞蒙兄弟……复杂的仇恨纠缠不清，残忍的复仇制造了更多仇恨，爱在地狱的边缘再生，却是以生命为代价。这错综复杂的一幕幕，活生生的展现在面前，仿佛重现了那个失去理智的时代。
作为一个优秀的作家，在狄更斯的作品里，语言的精彩是必不可少的。各种修辞手法，比喻、夸张、对比、幽默、嘲讽，被运用自如，而作品的艺术性也被送上巅峰。“……于是，克伦彻先生只得再听检察长先生怎样把史蒂夫先生套在陪审团先生们身上的紧身衣又一件件脱下来，翻个底朝天；……最后法官大人站了起来，把那件紧身衣里里外外捣腾了一遍，看得出来，他想为犯人裁剪寿衣。……”诸如此类精彩的段落，作品里比比皆是。于是，作者想要表达的每一个中心，都被体现得淋漓尽致了。我相信这对我们平时的学习，必定是大有帮助的。

My Opinions About A Tale of Two Cities
A Tale of Two Cities was written by Charles Dickens, who was born in Portsmouth, England in 1812.As the second of eight children, Dickens had to go to work at the age of twelve to support his poor family, and he lived a difficult childhood.This troublesome time scarred him deeply and provided him with substantial material for such stories as Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, and Great Expectations.Though just accepted only little education, Dickens became a famous writer through his struggling self-learning and extremely hard work, and he was the representative writer of realism in the 19th century.Charles Dickens lived in the period of transition between feudalism and capitalism, when the industrial revolution originated in England swept through Europe.As large numbers of workers invaded into urban centers to earn a living, the bourgeois took advantages of the surplus of labor by keeping wages low.The poor thus remained poor, and often lived in a narrow and filthy environment.Dickens’ writing depicted various directions about this society, and provided a keen, sympathetic chronicle of the plight of the urban poor.A Tale of Two Cities mainly about the great atrocities of French aristocrats compelled the poor citizens to resist violently.Doctor Manette spent eighteen years as a prisoner in Bastille because he intended to expose the atrocity after learning that

“A tale of two cities” is one of Dickens’s most important representative works。The novel profoundly exposed the society contradiction before the French Revolution，intensely attacks the aristocratic social class is dissolute and cruel，and sincerely sympathizes with the depressed classes。The novel also described many magnificent scenes like the revolt people attacked Bastille and so on，which displayed people’s great strength。

In the novel, Dickens sarcastically described a typical cruel nobleman―marquis of Evermonde . When he was young he and his brother stole a countrywoman by force and killed her family .What’s worse , he used his power to imprison Dr Manette , a kind and honest man who knew all the things they had done and wanted to disclose their crimes . In order to hide their crimes. Marquis of Evermonde and his brother threw Doctor Manette into prison for 18 years . During these 18 years,Doctor Manette lost his freedom and suffer a great in spirit .
I felt unthinkable that Marquis of Evermonde and his brother killed people just as easily as they killed chickens. They deprived other people’s freedom as they liked and they thought it was normal and unremarkable. They had never realized that they had done something wrong or something improper. Because their nature was cruel and evil, like demons. There is an old saying which means: People who commit too many crimes will kill themselves. After all, there is justice in the world. The demons can’t be rampant forever. Because the world will not forgive them. They will pay their lives for their crimes. Let’s see the consequence of the Marquis,’’He lay there like a stone with a knife pushed into his heart.” I think it was just what he ought to gain and it is a real exciting scene.
The Marquis’ death was just the beginning of people’s resistance to the nobleman. Gradually more and more people joined in the revolution. One after another nobleman were sentenced to death and their heads were cut down . However, some innocent people were implicated in the revolution. Charles Darney was one of them He was the nephew of Marquis of Evermonde. To the opposite of his uncle, Darney was a kind and independent young man.
Dickens spoke highly of kindness mercy and love in the novel too. This is the other thone of the novel when Doctor Manette was released from prison. It was his daughter Lucie who took care of him and helped him return to normal. During this time, Dr manette and Lucie knew Charles Darney and Sydeny Carton, the two young man fell in love with Lucie at the same time . At last, Lucie married Chares Darney .Dr Manette accepted Darney as his son-in-law although he knew that Darney was the nephew of the man who threw him into prison for18 years. This is the love between father and daughter. And Sydeny Carton , the very great man ,loved Lucie deeply. He promised Lucie that he would do everything for her happiness. He did it truely ,he sacrificed himself instead of Darney who looked the same as him. This is love for lovers . This is the most wonderful thing in the world. It also reminds us that no matter how no matter when there is true love existing. At the end , Lucie, Dr Manette and Darney arrived in England safely.
The tale of two cities is different from other historical fictions. Its characters and main plots are fictional under the real background of the revolution of France. The author made the experience of the fictional charactor Dr Manette as the main clue.The plots are complicated, and they are flexuous and dramatic. The structure is complete and rigorous.
