大学阶段要求学生通过各种等级考试。这种应试教育的弊端导致多数学生疲于应付各种英语考试, 许多大学生学习英语是迫于应试压力, 其本身对英语学习并没兴趣。大学生多为应付四、六级考试、考研等学习英语, 而这些考试都不考口语, 所以学生只注重这些考试所涉及的听力、阅读、写作等能力的提升, 对口语练习却不闻不问。许多学生把大部分时间都花费在各种各样的练习和习题中, 拼命寻求理解的标准性和答案的唯一性, 影响了知识在具体情境中广泛而灵活的迁移, 这样的结果造成了缺乏独立自主的思维能力和判断能力。这种教育方式明显不利于大学生认知能力和解决实际问题的能力的培养。

2、传统的教学模式不能有效提高英语听说能力

1 . 引言

在人类历史上，演讲与辩论作为一种语言艺术在传播思想、建立学说方面扮演了重要的角色。在西方文明史上其历史可以追溯到以柏拉图为代表的古希腊时期，而在中国，其历史可以追溯到百家争鸣的春秋战国时期。当今世界，在很多国家尤其是美国，演讲与辩论已经成为了大学生的一门必修课程。近些年来，随着英语专业人才培养要求的提高和英语专业建设的发展，演讲与辩论课程在越来越多的中国高校获得了越来越高的重视度。特别是CCTV杯大学生英语演讲比赛、21世纪杯英语演讲比赛，以及外研社杯英语辩论赛等大型英语演讲比赛和英语辩论赛的进行，更是激发了英语专业学生对于英语演讲与辩论技巧的关注和进行探索的热情。

英语演讲与辩论课程不同于其他的理论性课程，具有突出的实践性特点，在课堂教学中改变了以老师讲述为主的课堂惯例，更多地要求以学生为主体的互动式教学。此课程的目的并不是将每位学生都培养成演说家，而是让学生在活跃的课堂氛围中，在语言表述能力得到提高的同时，还能在交际能力、心理素质以及思辨能力等多方面有全面的提高。

2 . 英语演讲与辩论课程对语言能力的提高

要成为一个优秀的演讲家，首先要具备的是对于语言的掌控能力。因此，在此课程的教学中无疑会将提升学生的语言能力放在首位。

首先，为了在公众场合流畅地表达个人思想，就要提高学生的口头表达能力。在口头表达中，有两个重要的指标，即准确度和流利度。准确度主要是考察演讲者是否有正确、清晰的发音，流利度主要考察演讲者是否能连贯地表达个人思想，有没有出现过多的、不必要的停顿和重复。在传统课堂中，老师是主要的课堂讲述者。而在演讲与辩论的课堂中，学生成为了主要的讲述者，通过一系列的课堂活动，督促学生有意识地纠正个人发音上的瑕疵，使个人的表达更加流畅。

其次，很多学生在学习中发现，仅仅做到发音标准，对于演讲和辩论来说还远远不够。如何做到言之有物，如何做到言之有理，都还需要学生掌握丰富的信息。而阅读可以给学生带来这些丰富的材料。在学生准备演讲与辩论的过程中，会阅读大量的中英文资料，在此过程中，学生的阅读能力也得到了提升。

第三，英语演讲与辩论还可以提高学生的写作水平。演讲稿和辩论词不同于一般的应试作文，也不是简单的词汇堆砌和句子排列，而是如何将个人思想有逻辑性地、有条理性地展示给自己的听众。因此成功的演讲与辩论都是以好的演讲稿和优秀的辩论词为基础的。在撰写演讲词时，学生需要考虑如何有效地运用自己所掌握的资料，形成逻辑性鲜明、感染力强的文字。同时为了保证自己在讲述时思维的清晰，学生还需要思考如何将文章内容有条不紊、条理清楚地展开。在反复推敲，反复修改个人演讲稿的过程中，对学生写作能力的提高无疑是有效的。

3 . 英语演讲与辩论课程对交际能力的提高

在英语演讲与辩论课程中，笔者所采取的是以学生为主的互动性教学。因此在教学中，会通过小组展示（presentation）和讨论会（seminar）的形式让学生充分地参与课堂教学。在小组展示中，为了使本小组有好的表现，各个成员之间要进行有效地合作，因此英语演讲与辩论课程可以有效地激发学生积极与他人沟通与协作的能力。辩论活动更是需要小组成员的合作默契，才能快速、准确地找到对方的失误和不严谨之处。在课堂教学中，学生会自由组合自己的小组成员，笔者会引导学生找到各自的优劣势，随后学生通过彼此的交流和讨论，决定每个成员在小组中所承担的人物和角色，尽量让每个成员都将个人的长处发挥到极致，尽可能多地得到老师和同学的赞许和认同。

如果说演讲者和辩手的个人准备属于主观环境准备的话，那么对于观众，场合、情景等因素的准备就属于客观环境的准备。而此过程也是主观环境和客观环境的交流。在课堂教学中，每一个小组展示完之后，笔者都会安排学生进行评价。评价的内容包括讲述内容、演讲者的肢体语言、与观众的交流等多方面进行，甚至有些学生还可以就演讲内容对演讲者进行提问。通过这个环节，演讲者可以清楚地了解自己的优势和缺点，帮助他们发掘自身的潜能。

从交流策略上来说，学生的心理素质也是影响交流效果的重要因素。而自信心是增强心理素质的重要砝码。在英语演讲与辩论课程中，学生的自信心是可以得到提高的。在公众场合，很多学生会出现语言表达能力不强、词不达意、怯场、焦虑等现象。在课堂教学中，笔者通过以下方面帮助学生建立自信心。首先通过课堂讨论，让学生充分认识到自己的优点和缺点；其次，通过一些真实案例，让学生明白怯场绝对不是个案，而是很多人都会出现的；再次，通过课堂的不断练习，附加老师和同学对于个人优势的赞许，从而让学生逐步克服个人的紧张和焦虑。在当代社会，自信心对于学生的学习和将来的工作都会产生重大的影响。因此，帮助学生提升他们的自信心和协作精神有助于他们面对未来的各项挑战。

4 . 英语演讲与辩论课程对思辨能力的提高

通过与学生的交流，笔者发现很多学生反映此课程学习的最大难点在于两方面。其一：在表达个人观点时，内容空泛、缺乏逻辑性；其二，在倾听他人观点时，只是被动地去接受他人的观点，很难对观点进行辨析。这两种现象除了表明学生语言能力上的缺失外，更多说明了学生在思辨能力上的匮乏。孔子曾经说过：“学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆。”因此如何培养学生的思辨性就成为了课堂教学的一个重点。思辨能力体现在对事物关系的清晰认知以及对他人观点的质疑上。在英语演讲与辩论课程的学习中，笔者会要求学生对话题进行分析，提出个人的观点，并提出相应适当的、有力的论证。其次，通过课堂讨论，要求学生提出他人观点的合理之处和不足之处，并就不足之处提出个人的看法。最后，请观点受到质疑的同学进一步阐释个人的观点。这样在听、问、说的过程中，学生的思想得到了碰撞，老师可以在此基础上鼓励他们去思考一系列的问题：该话题可以从哪些方面进行讲述？这些观点应该用哪些例证来进行支撑？哪些观点得到了大家的认同？哪些观点受到了质疑？这些观点为什么会被反驳？反驳的观点是否正确？可以从哪些方面进一步阐释个人观点？通过这样反复的练习，学生针对问题独立思考的能力以及提出个人观点的能力都能得到提高。

5 . 结语

英语演讲与辩论课程不仅仅是以提高学生语言能力为目标的课程，更多注重了学生的语言运用能力、交际能力以及认识问题、分析问题和解决问题的思辨能力等综合素养的提升。所以英语演讲与辩论课程的教学，不仅有利于学生专业技能的提高，更有利于将学生培养成为符合现代社会需求的高素质复合型人才。

1 研究方法

从上述研究中笔者发现, 以往的研究分析针对语言特点的研究不足。因此, 本文基于自建的英语专业大学生信息性演讲语料库的研究, 利用ANTCONC软件对120个同学的120篇演讲稿进行检索分析。

2 数据分析与讨论

首先, 本文对英语专业大学生信息性演讲的题目进行了一定研究, 经过分析笔者总结出自荐语料库中英语专业大学生信息性演讲的题目大致可以分为19类, 具体分布情况如图一。

通过对图一的分析得出, 日常生活、健康、环境、文化、旅游等方面的题目选取较多, 从中得出同学们比较注重日常生活和精神文化等方面, 原因是这些内容对同学们来说比较熟悉, 是生活周围经常接触到的内容, 与日常生活息息相关, 易于表达, 学生们能够对其进行分析和讨论。并且八零九零后的学生们更注重心灵和身体的和谐生长。因而更重视能够提高自己物质文化和精神文化的内容。

其次, 本文通过对信息性演讲语料库排名前30位的词的检索发现as一词的使用频率很高, 共出现170次, 排名第18位, 笔者对英语专业大学生信息性演讲中as的使用进行了研究, 分析了as的使用特点 (见图二) :

由表二和图二可以看出, 学生们对as的使用非常频繁, 尤其是作为介词, 取“作为, 当作”一意时的使用频率最高, 其原因为信息性演讲很多地方都要向听众介绍某人、某事或某物, 在介绍过程中为避免句子冗长, 尽量使演讲语言简洁易懂, 用as和其他词语搭配比较恰当。

同学们对as的使用比较熟练, 大部分情况下能够正确掌握其用法, 进行适当的运用。但是在使用中还是会出现一些错误。例如:本文的as的错误用法为形式错误, 使用不当:

As the development of internet, computer is becoming more and more popular.

学生在此处使用as原本是要取as作为连词时“当……时, 随着”一意, 但是此处使用as并不恰当, 应当使用with一词。

3结论

研究结果表明, 英语专业大学生信息性演讲中日常生活、健康、环境、文化、旅游等方面的题目选取较多, 原因是与他们的日常生活息息相关, 易于表达并进行分析和讨论并且八零九零后的学生们更注重生活的质量, 因而更重视能够提高自己物质文化和精神文化的内容。通过对高频词as一词的讨论发现, 同学们在语法应用中存在一些错误, 但是总体上能够基本掌握其用法并加以正确的运用。

摘要：演讲已经成为学术交流、公司管理等交际活动的一部分。高质量、高水平的演讲更好地向他人展示和推销自己, 实现迅速、有效的人际交往和沟通, 融洽自己的人际关系。基于语料库的对英语专业大学生信息性演讲文本的研究, 通过对大学生英语演讲语料库的分析发现, (1) 同学们的演讲题材主要为日常生活工作中接触到的人事物; (2) 词语as在演讲中的使用频率较高, 但在使用中存在一些问题。

英语演讲课教学初探 篇8

一、明确英语演讲课教学目的

我认为英语演讲课有三个目的。一是培养学生连句成段、说话成篇的口语表达能力,是在口语基础上的巩固与提高。其二,针对学生重记忆、轻逻辑的状况,培养学生逻辑思辨的能力。其三,由于演说是交际的重要手段,其中要运用交际所需的各种技能,因此,英语演讲课同时也培养学生的跨文化交际能力。总之,英语演讲课旨在通过一定的技能训练,并由此带动学生发挥主观能动作用,综合提高学生各方面的素质。

二、英语演讲课的教学内容

英语演讲课有两个组成要素。首先它是英语的,它操练的是学生在英语方面的思维能力、口头表达能力以及交际能力,而非汉语的。其次它是演讲课,必须向学生传授演讲的相关知识,诸如演讲心理、演讲技巧、演讲稿写作及演讲审美等。这两者不存在孰轻孰重的问题,它们是有机辨证的结合体。演讲课上,英语的口头表达能力要通过演讲技能的训练来表现,而演讲技能的训练必须使用英语来进行,两者互相依附,互相提高。其最终结果是学生跨文化交际能力的习得。

三、英语演讲的教学方法依据

1.班杜拉等人的理论。班杜拉等人主张人类应通过观察别人的熟练反映,并在此基础上进行模仿,完成学习行为。观察者通过这种方法学习新反应,并在以后某些时候复现这些新反应。这之中,存在几种变量:(1)示范者的刺激特征;(2)示范者演示的行为类型;(3)示范者的行为后果;(4)学习者的动机。学习者在观看示范前,一定的指示或暗示,会影响产生学习示范行为或高或低的动机。英语演讲对于母语为汉语的中国学生而言,是一个崭新的领域,他们缺乏应有的文化背景和心理涵养,这一技能的习得无疑需要通过观摩英语演讲成功的范例,并模仿再生成这一过程。而在教学前对学生进行提示,教学后对学生进行鼓励,也是提高学生学习动机必不可少的程序。

2.树立以学生为中心的教学原则。英语演讲课是实践课。教师的功能主要是传授一些基本技能,并进行一些组织点评工作。大部分的时间应留给学生进行模仿、操练。教师讲代替不了学生的演讲。只有通过多层次多形式的反复模仿、学习、演练,学生的技能才能一步步巩固和提高。因此,英语演讲课的教学更应强调以学生为中心。

3.中英演讲的异同。用汉语演讲与英语演讲在本质上都应是相同的,但由于语言符号文化背景、思维习惯的不同,两种演讲显然存在着客观差异。如在演讲的谋篇布局、言语节奏、身势语等上面就存在着差别。因此,教学中虽然可以借鉴汉语演讲的成功经验,但绝不能全盘照搬,而一定要注意英语演讲的特征,有鉴别地吸收,使英语演讲具备应有的风格。

四、英语演讲课的组织形式

综合考虑演讲课的目的、教学内容、教学方法依据,在教学的具体组织中,可以采取以下形式:

1.观摩。观摩的目的在于消除学生在语言和心理上的隔膜感,激发他们对英语演讲的兴趣,并领会英语演讲的特点,打下模仿的基础。模仿的材料可以使用一些经典演讲音像资料。观摩时,引导学生体会重音、强读、弱读、吞音、连读、换气、断句、停顿等英语演讲用声特点;注意身势语的使用,如眼神、手势、面部表情;注意演讲稿的立意构思、谋局布篇、逻辑发展、宣讲功能差异;注意身势语,用声用气和演讲稿结合的问题。观摩的对象也可以是教师本人。由于教师准备充分,深知中英演讲的差异,又与学生心理距离相近,其观摩价值较大。

2.模仿。通过一段时间的观摩,可进入第二阶段的模仿。模仿可以从朗读做起,即首先要求学生按照观摩片的特点,看着原文带表情地大声朗读,此时其用声技巧应与范本尽量一致。随后,当学生已能脱稿时,再要求其配上动作语言,进行全真模仿。当然由于文化的差异,有些身势语未必能在本土文化中获得认同,如耸肩、过多的扬眉等等。因此,模仿的重点还应放在英语演讲的用声技巧上。

3.英语命题演讲。当观摩渐入佳境时,教师便可引入命题演讲这一形式。由于学生已明了英语演讲稿的写作特点,即将书面语转化为有声语言的技巧,往往跃跃欲试。教师给定一题目,然后课下学生收集材料,拟定提纲,写出讲稿,由教师进行个别辅导,修改讲稿,进行演讲技巧的指导,然后在课上进行演讲汇报。演讲完后,教师和学生共同进行点评,提出改进意见。英语命题演讲的优点在于学生准备时间较长,酝酿充分,便于各种技巧的操练,学生的英语阅读、作文能力也可获得相应提高。

4.英语即兴演讲。此形式更具挑战性,此阶段训练可与命题演讲同步,也可在学生有相当基础之后进行。教师一般一节课选定十到二十个题目,学生抽签,然后稍做准备,或不做准备,即上台演讲三到五分钟。英语即兴演讲对学生的应变能力、心理素质、连续说话能力都是极大的考验。演讲的题目应从易到难,从叙事到抒情。同样,演讲后,也应进行点评。同时,教师应作即兴演讲技能辅导,课下可要求学生背诵相当数量的词汇,以积累一定的语言素材。

5.英语论辩演讲。在充分展开命题演讲、即兴演讲训练的基础上,可组织论辩演讲,拟定一个有争议的题目,将学生分为数组,学生课后收集材料,充分准备。课上进行论辩,辩制可与目前流行辩制衔接,每方设一二三辩及自由发言人,教师充当主席。论辩演讲是命题演讲和即兴演讲的综合应用,是考查学生综合能力和学习效果的良好机会,一般可两个月举行一次。

6.英语演讲竞赛。我们平时教学班级人数在50人左右,所以现场气氛远非大场面可比。为了培养学生的实际运用能力,一学期我们还组织一次全年级或全校的英语演讲竞赛。经层层选拔的优秀学生在演讲竞赛上进行命题演讲,即兴演讲并当场回答观众就演讲提出的几个问题。演讲竞赛除了对参赛者本人是一个考验外,还创造了浓厚的学英语的氛围,有利于培养健康的英语学习环境。

这样,经过观摩、模仿、命题演讲、即兴演讲、论辩演讲以至演讲竞赛这一系列的形式,三年高中下来,学生的口语表达能力、心理素质、跨文化交际能力一般都能有较大的提高。
