写一个短小精辟的句子可以起到画龙点睛的作用。我们把短句放在段首或者段末, 也可以揭示主题:As a creature, I eat;as a man, I read.Although one action is to meet the primary need of my body and the other is to satisfy the intellectual need of mind, they are in a way quite similar.在文章第一段 (开头) 用一长一短, 且先长后短;在文章主体部分, 先用一个短句解释主要意思, 然后在阐述要点的时候采用先短后长的句群形式, 定会让主体部分更加突出。文章结尾一般用一长一短就可以了。

六、变换句式

四级作文要求考生能写出一定的长句子, 但是考生一写长句往往就会写错, 怎么办?最保险的方法就是在短句之间加上表示关系的连词。比如可以在有先后关系或并列关系的句子之间加and, 例如:I enjor music and he is fond of playing guitar如果是二者并列的, 我们就可以用一个超级句式:Not only the fur coat is soft, but it is also warm.如果是转折关系, 我们就可以加上despite that, still, however, nevertheless, in spite of, despite, notwithstanding这样的词语。比如The car was old.It was in excellent condition.我们可以改成The car was quite old, yet it was in excellent condition.有时还可以附加一些东西, 即定语从句、同位语从句或者插入语。例如The man whom you met yesterday is a friend of mine;I don’t enjoy that book you are reading.其实很简单, 同位语———要解释的东西删除后不影响整个句子的构成;定语从句———借用之前的关键词并且用其重新组成一个句子插入其中, 但是whom or that关键词必须紧跟在先行词之后。

最后总结四级作文成功的关键有如下几点:

我们知道,在四级写作中,词汇量不足是影响成绩的一个重要因素。如果一个单词的意思表达不清,一般也是因为用词不当而造成的。一个好的句子也会因为一个词汇想不起来而不能完成。如何应付这种情况使作文顺利进行下去?这里作者向备考四级的同学们介绍以下三种简便易行的应急措施,希望对你会有所帮助。

1.1 使用笼统词是写作中的小窍门

笼统词关键在于意义较为广泛,构成词组后可以替代众多具体动词。尽管不能准确表达某些意思,但能大致表达意思。因此,学生在作文中可以尽可能使用含义笼统的词汇,会给考生带来意想不到的效果。

例如:我想去参加一个重要的会议。这里很多考生会想到使用“join in或attend the meeting,其实不然,我们也可以使用have,因为该词意思较广,属于笼统词汇,同样可以收到相同的效果。同樣的例子还有:

They occupied the city. = They took the city.

The boy resembles his father. = The boy takes after his father.

从以上的例句不难看出,具体词音节较多,使用频率不高,容易遗忘,而笼统词则不然。因此,在作文应试中,笼统词取代具体词,不失为一种应急良策。

1.2 联想相关单词,有助于行文

对于学生尤其是考生来说,在四级写作中尽量发挥自己的想象力,展开自己的写作思维空间,尽可能将一个单词,以此类推出多个意思接近或相关的单词来并且利用它们的内在联系,多层次,多角度地运用词汇。我们可按下列思路进行联想:联想同义词或反义词。

英语语言中众多的同义词在许多情况下是可以通用的。利用这一规律,由于某个单词受阻而影响全篇写作的情况便不会出现。试看下列句子:

The food is delicious. = The food is tasty. = The food is nice to eat.

在这个例子中,delicious,tasty,nice to eat均有同样的意思,因此,对于学生来说,只要联想出其中任何一个单词,都可以表达清楚该句的意思,只是这三种表达的区别是:正式语和非正式语之分。

英语语言中词与词之间是有联系的,也就是我们常说的同义词,因为丰富的同义词给我们写作提供了很大的方便。

同样,我们也可以反义词来替代某些遗忘的词,请看下面的例子:.

This is expensive. = This is not cheap.

She is talkative. = She is never quiet.

1.3 多用解释性语句,文章的层次会更加清楚

2 大学英语写作需注意的问题

2.1写作时间的合理分配

有同学草草看完题目要求,就匆匆下笔,结果跑题万里。如果文章偏离主题,那就不得高分。所以,建议考生用大概5分钟时间先审题,定下大概写作方向,写下重点单词,勾勒出文章的大概框架。

接下来用20分钟左右的时间来写文章。

写完文章后,考生还应用2-5分钟时间来检查文章。考生如果不检查文章,就会自觉不自觉地犯一些错误,尤其是单数复数的错误和时态的错误。

2.2 掌握拓展语言的方法(即如何安排行文的顺序)

考生往往不知道如何下笔,不知道写什么内容,每个句子都得花很多时间来思考。如果有一个比较好的思路来引导我们,那写文章就会轻松多了。所以,建议考生在考前掌握如何通过因果关系、时间顺序、空间顺序等来扩展思维。另外,还要掌握如何分析原因,如何提供方法,如何做一些简单的评论。

2.3 增加语言的亮点

为了让作文得更好的分数,考生应该了解一些得分技巧,比如在单词层面上,单词要有变化,而且部分单词要有四级难度。如一篇四级范文中,考生用believe, think, maintain三个不同单词来表示"认为",这就体现了变化,maintain一词也体现了四级难度。很多四级考生在写文章时会习惯性地用中学时学的单词,所以文章即使错误较少,也不能得一个较高的分数。另外,在句子层面上,需要长短句有机结合,不要从头到尾都是简单句,比如可以加一个定语从句,状语从句,插入语等。这些语言的运用可以让阅卷老师知道我们所能掌握的语言复杂级别。当然,也没有必要从头到尾都写长难句。

笔者需要提醒的是,作文的格式化意味着模板的可实际操作性的加强,但是基础写作能力绝对不能忽视。模板的填空部分总得自己写,同时对模板本身的语法分析也必不可少,以避免出现语法错误。从四级考试写作的测试目的来看,还是注重考查学生对基本语法、基本词汇运用能力的掌握情况。所以除了模板之外,考生还要在基本表达上狠下功夫,只有在平时多操练,在考场上才游刃有余。除此之外,学生还要在作文中多采用闪光点,这样就会使作文在基本分数上有所提升,有所突破。

1合作原则理论

“合作原则”是美国语言哲学家Grice在《逻辑与语言》中提出的。他认为, 在语言交际中, 交际双方都怀着一个共同的愿望:双方的话语能互相理解, 共同配合。为了保证回话的顺利进行, 他们必须共同遵守一条原则, 即所谓的“合作原则” (Grice, 1975) 。“合作原则”含有四条准则——量的准则 (Quantity Maxim) , 所说的话应包含交谈目的所需要的信息, 所说的话不应包含超出需要的信息;质的准则 (Quality Maxim) , 所说的话语要真实, 不要说自知是虚假的话, 不要说缺乏足够证据的话;相关准则 (Relation Maxim) , 即所说的话是相关的;方式准则 (Manner Maxim) , 表达方式要清楚明白、简练, 避免晦涩、歧义。 (何自然, 1999)

“合作原则”的核心就是交际双方必须真诚合作, 保证交际目的的顺利实现, 这一点在大学英语作文中也同样发挥着重要作用。

2大学英语四级作文的评分要求

大学英语四级大纲对写作的要求是在30分钟内写出100-120词的短文, 试卷上可能给出题目, 规定情景, 或给出关键词、段首句要求续写, 近几年较多的是看图作文。

评分上的具体要求为:内容切题、表达清楚、意义连贯、语言规范。阅卷标准分为五等:2分、5分、8分、11分及14分, 每一等都可上下浮动一分, 各等得具体标准如下:

2分条理不清、思路紊乱、语言支离破碎或大部分句子均有错误, 且多数为严重错误。

5分基本切题。表达思想不够清楚, 连贯性差, 有较多的严重语言错误。

8分基本切题。表达思想比较清楚, 文字尚连贯;但语言错误较多, 其中有少量的严重错误。

11分切题。表达思想清楚, 文字连贯, 但有少量语法错误。

14分切题。表达思想清楚, 文字连贯, 连贯性较好, 基本上无语法错误。 (姜健, 2007)

可以看出, 学生作文分数高低的差别体现在“逻辑思维”、“主题观点”、“词语表达”和“语法错误”四个方面。而这四个要点, 也正好可以对应“合作原则”的四个准则。

3“合作原则”在四级作文中的“遵循”与“违反”

我们选取A、B两位大学生的四级作文习作, 比较出各项准则在优劣两篇文中的体现, 题目是A Brief Introduction to a Tourist Attraction:

(1) “量的准则”的体现:表现为学生在作文中的词语表达是否适量, 是否精确或者拖沓。

例如:A) Good morning, everyone, welcome to Wuhan.I am your tour guide, you can call me Julia.Today, we are going to visit…

B) Hello, everybody!Welcome to China, and welcome to my hometown, an amazing land, Wuhan!…If you have some trouble, you can call my number, it’s my phone number.Please write down, please!Now, shall I do some introduction about this tour and the amazing land for you?

开头的第一段都同样涉及到导游英语所要求的“寒暄、地点介绍、导游自我介绍、行程安排介绍”等信息, 两位同学在量的准则上明显具有差别。

A篇文章言简意赅, 能有效地抓住重要的信息在短时间内给旅客展现, 这也是导游所要具备的素质。B篇文章中的语言看似礼貌, 但是重复较多, 语句不得要领, 还给人留下啰嗦的印象。

(2) “质的准则”的体现:表现为作文中的信息是否真实、可信, 或者是否有很多语法错误。

例如:A) Thefirst stop is Yellow Crane Tower.As the most famous scenery site in Wuhan, which always attracts a lot of people around the world and wins its great fame in turn.It is not just famous for the structure of the building, but for the ancient poets, such as Li Bai and Du Fu, who write a large number of poems to appreciate its beauty.

B) The Yellow Crane Tower dates back from Qin Dynasty, have a long history.Sowe will visit some historical site and go to Turtle Mountain, which high 500 meters…

首先, A同学的文章在英语语法的水平上明显高于B同学。如下表显示:

具体表现在:A同学的文章中“It is not just…”, 应该在前面“as”引导的从句中作为主句。B同学的文章共有3处错误, 分别应该改成“has”、“sites”和“which is high”。语法错误所占信息字数的比例本身就是作者文字表达质量的体现。其次, B同学所陈述的黄鹤楼的历史年代不正确。最后, 在反映龟山的高度的时候, 不应该有精确的500 meters这样的表达, 而应该加上副词about/around, 这样在表达上留有余地, 才会显得更加科学。所有这些问题, 都会影响文章的真实感。只有在信任的基础上, 读者才会继续接受信息, 深入了解信息, 否则, 只能使人失去兴趣, 信息交流失败。

(3) “相关准则”的体现:表现为文章的语言是否相互搭配, 是否关联主题, 逻辑是否科学合理, 能不能首位呼应等等。

例如:A) Next, I will lead you to visit the Wuhan University, which is the top university both in Wuhan and in China.Every year in March and April, there are lots of visitors coming here enjoy the sight of the Oriental Cherries, which are said to be given by Japan.After viewing this spot, we will go to…

B) Then, you can find the schedule in your hand.We will visit East Lake in our second day.All of our daily water is from there in this area.You will enjoy the splendid sight.Thefinal day, we’ll go to Wuhan University, having a relaxed and healthy day there…

在近乎同样的部分, 为了表达相似的内容, A同学从黄鹤楼谈到武汉大学, 又着重介绍了武汉大学的名声和景点特色, 让读者了解到了一些武汉大学的知识, 对接下去的旅游产生兴趣。且时间状语使用得当, 层次分明, 始终和作者的主题相关联。而B同学的介绍, 一开始就提到日程表, 非常突兀。接着马上转到东湖, 说到东湖水, 最后一句话说了武汉大学。短短一段话, 作者罗列出过多的地点信息, 三个地点没有使用语言进行关联, 并且每一个介绍一句话点到, 显得思维混乱, 毫无准备, 以致干扰读者的理解。

(4) “方式准则”的体现:我们可以从这两位同学文章末尾的语句理解这一点, 看他们是否能清晰表达自己的思想。

例如:A) …I am sure you can enjoy and share your stay in Wuhan with your friends.I am looking forward to your coming back!

B) …after that you will arrive at the airport and back home.I am so sad to say goodbye to you.Have a nice trip!

在导游词的末尾, 作者都会提出自己的总结和希望。A同学这一点就表现得很自然得当, 既让旅客对自己的旅行满意, 也表达出了导游亲切友好的一面。B同学则在方式上显得有些造作, 不能有效地表达自己的真实感情。

4结语

“合作原则”是指说话双方在假设对方乐意合作的前提下进行交流, 并都希望交际顺利地进行下去。大学四级作文是大学生英语学习的难点, 也是英语教学中需要攻克的重点。 (魏晓红, 2008) 大学生要想在写作中拿高分, 除了平时多写多练以外, 还须了解“合作原则”中的规范标准。作为老师来讲, 用“合作原则”指导作文, 能帮助英语老师们客观地解释出学生作文的优劣之处, 从而进一步提高大学生的作文水平。

摘要：合作原则是人们在交际活动中应当遵守的语用原则, 文章回顾Grice这一著名理论, 结合实例分析大学生英语写作在这一原则中的体现, 探讨大学生作文的问题所在, 由此总结出相应的写作建议。

英语作文走出汉语作文的误区 篇8

误区一：用中文思维串联英文词汇

一些同学在绞尽脑汁也写不出英语作文的情况下，会先按照题目写一个中文稿出来，然后再借助电子辞典翻译出一篇所谓的英语作文。还有一些同学习惯性地用中文的表达方式来写英语作文。这就造成了所谓的中国式英语作文。在这样的作文里，我们常常读到以下这类用中文的语法和英语单词拼凑出来的句子：“When I was a child，my parents very love me。”(正确的表达：When I was a child，my parents loved me very much。)“The supermarket's in front of is a guesthouse。”(正确的表达：There is a guesthouse in front of the supermarket。)。

解决之道：强化语法

要想流利的掌握一门外语，你需要能够使用该语言思考，而不用在头脑里来回翻译。而将中文式思维转变为英语思维的最根本的途径之一就是强化语法知识。很多同学的词汇量很丰富，但是对于怎么用，什么时候用却并不明白。而这些恰恰是语法知识所能告诉我们的。哪些词要用在句中，哪些词应该用在句尾，语法里都有相应的规定。一旦用错了位置就会写成英国人看不懂的英语作文。另外，对于词汇所存在的不同的形态也应该注意。

误区二：过分“精雕细琢”而忽视了“大局”

不少同学在写英语作文时，将过多的注意力放在“优美的文笔”上面。因此，他们不停地用电子辞典搜集华丽的辞藻，并运用难度颇高的句式，以期能让自己的作文“技高一筹”。但事实上，多数情况下会弄巧成拙。太生僻的单词同学们运用起来并不能得心应手，而且使用太复杂的句型也常常会出错。还有一些同学为了使句式错落有致而将句子随意断开，或者是在句中插入一些短语，如果运用不当会有哗众取宠之嫌，反而会使作文质量下降。

解决之道：用平常心表达平常事

写作要求学生能够综合运用逻辑、词汇和语法等多种知识和技能来完成一个写作任务，但并不苛求学生去做标新立异的创作。因此同学们无需力求完美地到电子辞典里去找生僻的词汇，只需要将学过的词从记忆深处调动出来，复习语法课上学到的知识。

误区三：文章冗长细枝末节过多

不少学生在写作中的一大担心就是文章的长度不够，再加上对于“可适当增减细节，不可字对字的翻译”的误解，于是便充分发挥想象能力，加入了很多离题较远的细枝末节。这样的文章写出来更像是一篇“大杂烩”，从中找不到任何主题。

解决之道：理清思路，言之有物

英语老师认为，很多人之所以写不够题目要求的作文字数，其中一个重要原因就是对于题目本身没有理解透彻。建议同学们不要急于下笔，而是先考虑清楚自己要说几点内容，这些内容之间的逻辑关系是怎样的。

作文开头不要写得太罗嗦，要找着恰当的切入点，快速入题，结尾同样不要拖泥带水。建议大家多使用一些关联词。有了这些词的连接，就会使文章变得语句通顺，层次清楚。另外，考生不用过度迷信一些使用难度较高的复合句，只要关联词搭配合理，短小的句型、简单的短语同样也能使文章出彩。
