英语专业学生一般在三年级开始学习“翻译理论与实践”这门课, 多数翻译教师都想当然地认为这个时候的大学生在英汉两门语言上都有了相当扎实的功底。可实际情况往往是:担任基础课程的老师对英语“听、说、读、写”等几项基本技能强调过多, 而对母语素养的提高重视不够, 结果学生们的英语水平有了大幅度提高, 汉语水平却每况愈下。这种语言学习“一头沉”的现象非常不利于英汉翻译的学习。英语专业学生在英汉篇章翻译中的问题集中地体现在汉语表达上。对于英汉篇章翻译来说, 词句意义的选择会受到篇章环境的影响, 远远不象翻译孤立的词句那样灵活。由于对待翻译的态度不够端正、对英语原文缺乏深刻而全面的理解、以及汉语素养的欠缺, 英语专业学生在表达上往往会出现几种比较典型的问题:断章取义、忽视文化、表达过度、表达不足、不合习惯、不够贴切、缺乏气势等。除此之外, 在表达中学生也往往出现笔误、错别字、标点符号错误等较为次要的问题。

二、提高英汉篇章翻译表达能力的策略

(一) 端正对待翻译的态度。

要想学好翻译、做好翻译, 就必须端正对待翻译的态度。做翻译就象要在不同文化之间架起一座桥梁, 译者就是这座桥梁的工程师和建造者, 要对其质量负责。作为译者, 首先要尊重原作, 要仔细审读原文, 深刻领会作者的思想观点, 认真研究作者的行文风格。在进行表达时一定要尊重原作者的思想观点, 既不能篡改原作者的思想观点, 也不可把自己的思想观点加进去, 要努力做到忠实于原作。其次要对读者负责, 要时刻注意中西方语言和文化的不同, 尽量以最流畅的语言忠实地再现原作的思想观点和行文风格, 运用合理的翻译技巧扫除由于文化不同而产生的障碍, 使汉语译文具备最大程度的可读性。此外, 译者还要具有一丝不苟的精神, 尤其是在校核时, 必须要反复对照原文, 并对译文的表达进行反复推敲, 哪怕是对一个小小的标点符号也不得马虎, 也要按照汉语的表达习惯进行转换。

(二) 对原文进行深刻而全面的理解。

对原文进行深刻而全面的理解是做好英汉篇章翻译的基础。在这方面, 需要克服两个不良倾向。第一、一定不要把学习阅读时的理解习惯带到翻译过程中来。翻译所要求的理解是一种深刻而全面的理解, 对于小到单词、短语和句子结构, 大到语气、风格和篇章结构, 都要进行准确地把握, 只有这样才有可能形成准确而到位的表达。第二、切忌断章取义。跟孤立的词句翻译有所不同, 英汉篇章中的词句意义在很大程度上受到篇章环境的影响。有时, 文章中的一个词或一句话的意义会受到位置上离其很远的某个词或某句话的限制, 翻译时不得不对原文进行全面理解和通盘考虑。从本文前面的分析可以看出, 有时原作者的性别, 甚至原文的发表时间, 都会影响到表达的准确性。

(三) 提高汉语素养。

在英汉篇章翻译中, 对原文深刻而全面的理解能够为进行翻译打下了良好基础。能否用贴切流畅的语言再现原文的思想内容和行文风格, 就要看译者的汉语素养了。提高汉语的素养要从两方面入手:第一、注重汉语阅读。英汉篇章翻译的最终成果是用汉语表达出来的译文, 其质量的高低跟译者的汉语语言技能和中国历史文化底蕴有着密切的关系。要想提高汉语语言技能、丰富中国历史文化知识, 大量的汉语阅读是必不可少的。第二、注重汉语写作。写作跟翻译的关系极为密切:写作是作者利用语言来表达自己的世界观, 而翻译则是译者利用另一种语言来忠实地表达他人的世界观。对于英汉篇章翻译来说, 如果译者擅长利用汉语进行写作, 其翻译水平必然会高出一筹。可以把汉语写作当作英汉篇章翻译的基础来抓, 大量的汉语写作训练必定会促进英汉翻译水平的提高。

三、结语

如上所述, 英语专业学生在进行英汉篇章翻译实践时往往会出现种种问题, 其中绝大多数问题都跟翻译过程中的表达相关, 而能否运用通顺流畅的汉语进行表达最终决定着译文的质量。因此, 分析英语专业学生进行英汉篇章翻译时容易出现的表达问题, 研究解决这些表达问题的策略, 对于促进英语专业的翻译实践教学、提高学生翻译水平有着积极的意义。

摘要：本文从翻译教学实际出发, 指出了英语专业学生在英汉篇章翻译中容易出现的表达问题, 分析了出现这些问题的原因, 明确了提高表达能力的策略, 以期对他们的英汉翻译学习有所助益, 也希望能够对英语专业的翻译实践教学起到一定的促进作用。

培养新时代传媒领域的精英人才是英汉双语播音专业的目的, 为了使此课程更好地在高等文化教育中对专业学习生产生积极作用, 课程设置必须考虑到英语课程在双语播音中的特殊特征, 具体表现在以下几个方面:

(一) 对双播英语课程的认识。随着国际交流的迅速发展, 我国教育界对英汉双语播音专业英语课程的重视程度也上升了一个层次, 国内一些知名高校纷纷开设此课程。但是我国对于这门课程的认识还存在不足, 对该课程的设置也不够成熟, 换句话说, 在这方面其发展空间还是非常广阔的, 虽然课程设置上处于初级阶段, 但是教育工作者也仍在不断深入研究, 来探讨双语播音英语课程的设置良方, 以使双播英语课程专业的学习者受益于此。因此需求分析对于该课程设置尤为重要。
