一、课堂组织到位,是新课堂教学的保证

七年级学生年龄小,求知欲强,新奇好动,课堂教学组织不好就会出现学生“满堂乱”、教师“满堂喊”的局面,教师会弄得疲惫不堪,学生则嬉戏玩乐一无所获。我的措施有以下三方面。

1. 确定新课程教学的目标,建立合理的评价方案。

简单地说,就是针对学生的上课情况编制一个考察评估表,对其基础知识的掌握、相关能力的发展,学生努力的程度等进行全面评价。

2. 引入竞争机制,激励学生上好课。

具体做法是正视个体差异,倡导过程激励。每一单元学习结束,对所学内容进行单元测评,测评优秀者给予奖励分数,一学期下来统计分数多少,并给予相应的奖励。

3. 培养课堂助手,让学生参与组织教学。

这就是选一些英语综合素质高的学生担任小组长,课前让他们组织学生预习新知识、复习旧知识;课堂上让他们帮助基础较差的学生朗读对话并表演对话,在小组讨论时,促使基础稍差的学生积极参与讨论,并认真倾听别的同学的讨论内容。实践证明,发动学生参与组织教学,比教师唱“独角戏”要好得多。

二、教师指导到位,是落实新课堂教学的关键

指导学生预习。此预习是每节课的前五分钟至前十分钟,主要包含以下内容:检查学生在家的预习情况,这主要通过检查讲学稿上的课前预习的练习来完成;如果内容少一点,教师就应辅导学生先看书上内容,然后指导学生找出文中的重点、难点;如果内容多一点,教师首先指导学生看一遍内容,然后找出文中的生单词,最后在教师的指导下找出文中的重点、难点。

指导学生复习。 (1) 作业布置的指导:“一把钥匙开一把锁”,针对学生的不同特点分别强调不同的侧重点,有的内容基础性强,对于每个学生都有认真做的必要,那就均衡要求,但有的题目过于简单,那就对基础不太好的学生着重要求,严格强调;但对于一些能力要求高,题目又有相当难度的,则对基础好的学生严格要求。 (2) 作业批改的指导:根据作业布置的不同情况,对作业批改采用了“好顾差”、“中兼中”的措施。所谓好顾差,指基础好的学生以作业的形式对基础差的学生的基础题进行批改以巩固其没做的缺陷;中兼中指中等生之间讨论并进行批改,然后由教师讲解纠正。这两部分的指导加上课堂其余部分的引导构成了教学环节中不可或缺的非常重要的一部分,是新课堂教学的关键。

三、能力培养到位,是落实新课堂教学的根本

通过新课堂教学不仅应使学生获得充分的感性知识,而且应使学生获得充分的观察能力、动口能力、分析判断,使其综合的思维能力、创造能力等得到同步的提高。其中动口能力与思维能力的提高是英语新课堂教学的两个主要任务。教学中如何落实,我认为教师应从以下两方面进行。

1. 应尽可能锻炼学生的动口能力。

英语作为一门语言,它的终极目的就是用、说,光学不说,那是“哑巴英语”。“哑巴英语”学得再好,也没有实际的用途,所以在教学中教师应尽可能多地让学生动口: (1) 教师要求学生课下、在家等其它非教室场合动口说英语; (2) 课堂上尽量不讲汉语。七年级学生由于英语词汇的有限性决定着其表达的困难,但我要求他们只要能用英语说的一律不准用汉语,说错了没关系,要么教师引导纠正,但更多的是让他们学多了以后慢慢纠正; (3) 增加学生的词汇量:在小学学习英语的基础上,在七年级刚开始,我就系统地教学生学好英语音标,毕竟音标是学习英语词汇的一个手段。在学习音标之后,对于练习册等其它辅助资料上出现的一些简单易记的生词鼓励学生去记。词汇积累得多了,表达起来就不那么拗口了。通过上述措施,学生的动口勇气和最基本的动口能力基本上得到了落实,同时也扩大了学生的知识面,进而满足了学生的表达欲望。

2. 应注重启迪学生思维。

为启迪学生的思维,引导学生既动手又动脑,做到手脑并用。比如我在教学Unit 14的十种颜色时,一是根据学生的实际物品的颜色引入这一话题,提起学生的兴趣,然后要求学生动手制作一些又简单又明显表示这十种颜色的一些实物小卡片,有些学生用水彩笔仅三、四分钟就制出了十种颜色实物小卡片,然后让学生拿着卡片练习:“What’s this?”及“What colour is...?”等句型并学习颜色,这样既锻炼了学生的动手能力,又启发了学生的思维,并加强了记忆。分析和综合是思维最基本的过程,分析合理透彻,综合也就顺理成章。

3. 鼓励课外拓展,语言习得。

活动越多,学生可理解性的输入越多,语言习得就越多,“为用而学,用中学,学了就用”。教师不仅在课内,还可以根据教学内容的需要将任务延伸到课外。教师结合学生实际,丰富教学内容,创造运用英语的机会,给学生提供展现学习成果的机会。如制作School cards, Lost and found, Christmas cards, calendar, Time table等,把它们展览出来,让每个学生体验到学以致用的成功感。

综上所述,新课程改革下的课堂教学,需要调动学生的积极性,改变学习方式,加强教师的科学引导,做到既新颖别致,又踏实稳妥;既重视语言情景的创设,又使课堂简洁高效。

II. Match the words with the pictures.

Pairwork. Students work in pairs to find the words for the things in the picture, and check their answers with their partners. Then help them read the words

III. Presentation.

Place some common things in various positions around the classroom. Describe the location of these items, using on, in, under, next to, behind.

IV. Listening.

1b Play the recording the first time. Students only listen. Play it a second time. This time get the students to number the things. Check the answers.

V. Practice.

1c 1. Students read the conversation in pairs, and try to recite the conversation.

Period 2

Aims: Where’s/Where are questions and location of things.

Steps:

I. Revision

2. Get pairs of students to act out their conversations.

2a & 2b 1. Let students know what they should do. Play the recording twice. The first time, the students listen and do 2a; the second time they listen and do 2b.

III. Practice

1. Pairwork. Listen to the recording for 2a again. This time students listen and repeat. See which pair can act out the conversation.

2. Groupwork. Students work in-group. Each student writes 5 sentences about the location of the classroom objects. Some of the sentences are true, while some are false. Students read their sentences in their groups, and let the other students judge whether they are true or false.

See Grammar Focus on P.20. Explain the sentence structure to the students.

V. Homework

Copy and learn the sentences in Grammar Focus.

Period 3

Aims: Find the difference.

Steps:

I. Revision

1. Dictation: Dictate some sentences in the Grammar Focus.

2. Get some students to ask and answer questions about the location of some classroom objects.

II. Pairwork

1. 3a Read the conversation in the picture first, then follow the instruction of 3a and make a conversation.

2. Practice the conversation in pairs.(3b)

3. 3c Look at the pictures and talk about the location of the items.

III. Game: Find the difference.

Show the students two similar pictures, get them to work in groups to find out the differences. e.g. In Picture 1, the bag is on the desk; in Picture 2, the bag is on the chair. Then get the students to write down the sentences.

传统的教学模式和方法,总是教师“一言堂”,学生始终处于消极、被动的学习地位,没有什么轻松、愉快而言,因而也就无兴趣可谈;而且老师在教学中忽视中学生爱说爱动,自我约束、自我控制能力不强这些特点,单纯沿用传统教学模式,使用传统教学方法进行机械地讲解,填鸭式地灌输他们眼中枯燥无味,冷冰冰的语法、词汇,使他们不感兴趣,因而也就谈不上学习的积极性和主动性。即使那些认真学习的学生,也无非把自己当作知识的记忆器,为分数不得已而为之。

二、探索新教学方法的意义

教学方法是教师和学生为完成教学任务所采用的工作方式或手段。教学方法受教学原理的指导,要贯彻教学原则,它运用得是否恰当,直接影响学生学习的主动性和积极性,影响教学的效率和质量,关系到教学任务能否实现。毛泽东同志对方法的重要性以及方法同任务的关系作了生动的论述:“我们不但要提出任务,而且要解决完成任务的方法问题。我们的任务是过河,但是没有桥或船就不能过。不解决船或桥的问题,过河就是一句空话,不解决方法问题,任务也只是瞎话一顿。”

三、教学方法的尝试

首先,在教学上要更新思想和观念、以学生为本。面对新的教材,我参阅了大量的书籍,结合班级学生的实际情况,通过改变传统的教学方法从而改变学生的学习习惯,培养学生积极情感、排除消极因素;设计与安排周密、合理、富有弹性的活动,进行课堂教学设计,使教师的施教更具主动性,又给学生留出更大的发展空间;创设丰富多彩的教学活动场景。这样,使学生在新的课改当中受益,获取新的知识、新的技能。接手七年级新生后,我深入了解学生初考的成绩,进行家访,掌握第一手资料,建立学习档案;农村学生知识面窄,课外知识贫乏,本人从学生喜闻乐见的材料入手,引入新课。其次,在教案设计上要别出心裁。在新教材的运作过程中,备课应该是整本书地进行,理清思路,抓出重点、难点,而不是象传统方法那样一单元一单元的进行。备课文的同时要备学生,找出他们的兴奋点,注意各种资源的整合、优化,写出操作性强,有特色的教案。例如:在进行仁爱版教材Unit1.Topic3. Section B课文Step1.Presentation Step 2.Consolida-tion. 的教学步骤以后,我穿插了一个游戏:Step3.Play ThisGame.

At last the teacher puts other objects in a bag which can’tbe guessed easily. Let one student ask in front and the othersanswer, then exchange the roles. (eg. a potato, a pen, an eraser,a watch, a ball etc.). When the students can’t guess it, take itout and say: Oh, it’s a potato….

再者,教学活动要形式多样。开辟生动活跃的课堂。

1.把音乐运用到课堂。教学音乐是人与人情感相通的重要途径,在教会26个字母时我不是简单的一课一课教,而是先利用Project English Unit 1. Topic 1 Section C 4 .Class Ac-tivities:Sing This Song :THE ABC SONG的歌曲,琅琅上口、学生很快就把26个字母的读音掌握,达到事半功倍的效果。2.把教具运用到课堂教学。在英语初学阶段,应尽量使用直观手段。如:用实物可以揭示book, pencil, desk等的词义,用模型可以揭示car, bus等的词义,准备一些直观教具,或与课文相关的教学实物来丰富和完善教学内容,巧妙地激发学生的兴趣。

3.把绘画运用到课堂教学,在缺少实物和模型的情况下,简笔画在英语教学中的作用也同样不可忽视,是最简单最直接的辅助手段。比如:Unit 4. Topic1. What can I do foryou ? Section B .操练How do you like…? 句型时,我顺手画出:

T: Kangkang, do you like apples?

Kk: No, I don’t like them at all.

4.把爱心运用到课堂教学。我以往总是不由自主地对成绩好的学生给予过多的关注,而在教学中,学生们的基础参差不齐,对于那些“学困生”,多给他们提问发言的机会,有进步就抓住机会表扬、鼓励他们,培养他们的自信心,使他们溶入到课堂的活动中来。
