在语言学习者学习目标语言的过程中,学习者通过对目标语的词汇、语法和篇章等不同层面的内容进行错误分析,以了解他们对语言的掌握情况,提高语言学习的质量,这种方法被称为“错误分析法”。于此同时,每年举行的英语专业四级考试是衡量英语专业低年级学生英语水平的重要指标,而在该类考试中,英语写作的分数占据了总分的五分之一。不得不说,作文分数对专业四级的通过起到了至关重要的影响。本文试图用错误分析法来对独立学院英语专业低年级学生的写作错误进行统计、列举、分析和研究,从而对英语写作教学提出一些可行性建议。

一、独立学院学生英语专业四级大作文写作常见错误

首先,笔者针对工作所在的某独立学院的120名英语专业学生,就英语专业四级模拟考试试卷的写作情况进行了错误统计(错误可叠加,也就是说某个学生可以同时存在多种写作错误,也可能只存在一种错误)。

每种错误出现的频率不相上下。同学们最容易犯的错误中比例占据第二位的是语法错误,其中包括单复数使用混乱,主谓不一致;多谓语现象严重,谓语动词乱用和时态错误三种。剩下的两类错误:句法错误(中式英语和悬垂分句和语篇错误(衔接问题和内容偏离)分别占了总数的26.7%(32人次)和15.8%(19人次),虽然比例相对于前两项较少,但是也会不同程度上影响到独立学院英语专业学生的写作成绩和过级比例。

二、独立学院英语专业学生写作典型错误的归类分析

下面笔者就针对这四类错误类型,结合具体的案例进行详细分析:

1.词汇错误:(1)单词拼写错误。单词拼写错误是英语写作过程中最常见的一种错误,即使是英语专业学生,也避免不了要犯单词拼写的毛病。根据笔者该项的调查统计,发现超过8个字母组成的单词书写错误率要比8个字母组成一下的单词要高出很多,所以暴露出学生的单词记忆基础不牢和单词拼写技巧不够的缺点。(2)词性使用错误。在汉语中,词性只能通过句法结构来实现,所以词语的名词和动词形式基本上都是一致的;而在英语中,一个单词通过词缀转换可以衍生出这个单词的多种不同词性,这一点是和中文不同的。下面就以一个学生的书写错误为例,分析一下词性使用的错误:“If we want to finish this project on time,many factors should be taken into consider in advance.”在这个句子中“consider”应为“consideration”才是正确的,因为“考虑”在这里做介词“into”的宾语,应该用名词形式。

2.语法错误:(1)单复数使用混乱,主谓不一致。主谓不一致在同学们的作文中也非常常见,因为在汉语表述中,主谓一致的概念不存在,而且谓语的时态也经常被忽略,导致学生的主谓经常出现不一致的情况。例如句子“The government have to deal with this immediately.”中,主语“The government”是单数形式,是一般现在时态,而句子的谓语动词却用了“have”,出现了主谓不一致的现象,正确的用法应该将“have”改成“has”。(2)多谓语现象严重,谓语动词乱用。英语作为一种形和语言,要求句子各成分之间必须保持在人称、性、数、时和意义的一致,除了并列谓语动词之外,一个句子也只能有一个谓语动词。例如在句子“Many students are like studying home economics.”中,同时出现了两个动词;而“like”在此处做动词“喜欢”讲,所以要去掉be动词“are”。

3.句法错误:(1)中式英语。很多学生在写作时,都是根据自己预先想到的中文句子,再去找相应的英语表达方式,但是由于受到资深能力的限制,学习写作中出现了大量“中式英语”的表达。比如说:“Nowadays,the traffic in big cities is getting more and more crowded.”这个句子的正确表达应该是“Nowadays,the traffic in big cities is getting heavier and heavier.”。这样一些隐形的“中式干扰”时时刻刻影响着学生作文的质量。(2)悬垂分句。分词做状语时,其逻辑主语与句子中的真主语是一致的。但有时分句的主语与其所在的句子主语并不一致,悬垂结构的使用也容易出现错误,比如有学生写到“While having the class of English writing,the bell rang.”,这句话用中文读起来感觉很通顺,而正确的表达则应该是“While having the class of English writing,we heard the bell ring.”

三、独立学院英语专业学生写作典型错误的错误成因

1.过分关注语言点的“知识性”学习,忽视实际运用能力(口头和笔头)的培养。一直以来,各学习阶段的英语考试多采用标准化题型,这就无形中削弱了学生的实际语言运用能力。为了适应阶段性升学考试,许多教师在英语教学中把完整的课文割裂成了一个个语言碎片,过多地强调语言知识点的传授,而忽略英语文章所表达的整体信息和篇章结构。长此以往,学生在英语学习中形成背“考点”的误区,再加上接触写作的机会很少,要指望在大学基础阶段“突击”培养学生较为扎实的写作基本功,可谓是难上加难。

2.难以摆脱“中式思维”的影响。从以上所出现的问题可以看出,独立学院英语专业学生中式思维主要表现在受母语思维习惯和语言规则影响而造成的句内语言表达方式上。其中,母语概念体系的迁移为主导因素,母语语言规则的迁移集中表现在词汇、语法和句法方面。从学生写作文章中还可以看到出,英语语言基本功偏弱时,写作中所出现的中式思维与中式英语的相关性越高。

四、避免独立学院英语专业学生写作错误的教学对策

1.加强对单词的讲解和记忆。第一,在词汇的搭配和用法方面,教师可以有意识地对写作常用词汇、近义词汇、热点词汇甚至是高级词汇反复讲解,加深学生对这些词汇的理解和印象;第二,可以把以上词汇分类归纳,做成复习记忆手册,分发给学生,督促背诵,定时抽查学生记忆情况。

2 . 加大对“写作语法”的教学探索。在讲解写作语法中,教师往往只是要求学生们“死记硬背”语法的基本含义和意思,忽略其使用,也没有做更多的延伸,导致学生在写作的过程中仍然“我行我素”。教师在课堂上应该涉及专门的“写作语法”章节的讲解,并针对学生在习作中的典型错误设计相关语法改错练习和学生相互评阅环节,加强对此领域的教学开发力度。

3.注重写作技巧与写作实践的紧密结合,处理好理论与实践之间的关系,杜绝只讲不练的授课模式;争取在每次有限得课堂时间里,既讲解必要的写作理论,又挤出宝贵的时间给学生实践。对学生做的练习或写的文章,要有反馈意见,最好能做到当天或者当堂讲评。

4.在有限的课堂时间内采用启发式、讨论式、发现式和研究式的教学方法,充分调动学生学习的积极性,激发学生的学习动机,最大限度地让学生参与写作学习课程的全过程。培养学生勤于思考,善于概括的习惯,并正确处理写作技能训练与思维创新能力培养的关系。

五、结语

学习就是一个通过发现错误到及时分析,进而修正方法,最后到提高的过程。本文就是通过错误分析法,统计并研究了笔者所在的独立学院英语专业低年级在写作过程一些典型的错误,简要分析了其成因,最后给出了相关教学应对策略的文章。

一、引论

TEM8考试历来受到广大高校师生的关注。英语专业学生通过四年的学习，都希望通过该考试来检测自己的专业水准。通过分析TEM8试卷，可以得知TEM8考试共有六种题型，而翻译占20%的分值比重，考试时间分布上需要一个小时，可见翻译部分在考试中所占分量。而分析历年试卷，会发现无论在英译汉或是汉译英短文中都会考察定语从句，这也是考生频频出现问题的部分。因此，本文运用试卷分析的个案研究方法以期对学生在汉译英部分中对定语从句处理所出现的问题进行探讨并具体介绍几种定语从句的汉译方法。

二、研究方法与步骤

1.方法：本文通过例证法，从09-13年TEM8真题英译汉部分择取典型的7道定语从句，形成调查问卷，从被试者做题情况中分析和解决问题

2.被试者：15名英语专业四年级本科学生

3.材料：15份调查问卷

4.过程：被试者在规定时间内完成问卷上的问题并及时收取

三、调查结果与分析

通过对15份问卷结果进行对比分析，发现学生在汉译英部分中对定语从句的处理主要存在以下问题及分析

1.在第一个例句中，，通过对15名被试者的答案进行统计，发现其中有9个被试者采用的是正确的译法，而剩下6名则出现各种问题，例如被试者6的译法

对于非英语专业的大学生来说, 其所面临的是大学英语四、六级考试。如今为了适应人才市场的需求,由蔡基刚教授牵头,不仅邀请了北京大学、对外经贸大学、中央财经大学、中国政法大学等知名大学英语专家参与设计,而且吸引了一些知名人力资源和测评专家参与研发, 英语工作能力考试应运而生。从某种意义上说,英语工作能力考试重新定义了英语在工作应用中的能力结构,其已经不仅仅是单纯的英语语言考试。

英语工作能力考试采用的模块化组合考试可谓独树一帜,分为通用英语能力模块和专业用途英语能力模块。通用英语能力模块是必选考试项目,专业用途英语能力模块(专业模块)为自选项目。考生可以根据自身专业特点和职业方向,自行选择适合自己的专业模块考试, 这样既能兼顾不同考生的横向评估,又能实现专业领域的纵向评价,方便用人单位的考评[1]。

利用网络等资源努力创设各类符合学生认知需要的有效语境,使ESP课堂成为充满活力与创意的学习场所,这将会对高校的ESP教学起到积极的促进作用。在EGP+ESP的大学英语教学模式中,通过EGP的学习,学生能够掌握基础语言知识,奠定一定的语言基础,提高语言交际能力。同时,EGP的教学可以满足学生通过大学英语四级考试的需求, 增加就业的砝码。然而,教育国际化背景下的高校专业课程对学生英语能力的要求越来越高,不仅要求学生具备基本的英语交际能力,还需要学生具备用英语进行专业学习和研究的能力。这就要求大学英语教学模式必须进行改革, 将教学模式的重心由基础的英语学习转向专业英语的学习, 以适应新形势下学生和社会对英语语言技能的需求[3]。强调以专业知识为基础,运用英语进行学习、讨论和交流,培养学生学术交际技能和策略、学术口语交流能力和学术书面交流能力, 如: 能够用英语听讲座、学习并记笔记、参加学术讨论和撰写文献论文和报告等,大学英语教学模式的重心必然是学术英语。

一、体育专业学生英语能力现状

教育部最新修订的《普通高等学校本科专业目录》中在教育学门类下设体育学类，包括体育教育、运动训练、社会体育指导与管理、武术与民族传统体育、运动人体科学、运动康复、休闲体育等。其中报考体育教育、社会体育指导与管理、休闲体育等专业的考生，除了参加文化课考试外，一般还要参加所在省（市、区）组织的体育类专业考试；报考运动训练、武术与民族传统体育的考生，可参加单独招生考试。本研究所指体育专业学生为体育教育、社会体育指导与管理、休闲体育等或运动训练、武术与民族传统体育专业学生，其特点是招生过程中体育成绩占有相当大的比例，相对而言文化成绩的要求就有所降低，体育类本科文化分数线与普通本科分数线差距往往在百分以上；單招文化分数线也往往较低。体育生的文化学习要么是存在偏科严重，要么是普遍较弱，该群体学生的英语水平存在普遍较低且差异较大的现状，对四六级的学习产生较大影响。

英语四六级考试在现有的高校教育中除了作为判定学生英语能力的工具，同时也与本科生的切身利益相关。评定奖学金、保送研究生以及找工作都离不开四六级证书作为保障。结合体育专业本科生的英语能力现状，这一点显现的更为突出，本身该群体学生能够达到英语四六级水平的人就较少，因此对该群体学生而言，通过四六级往往代表了更多的收获。

三、体育专业英语教学对英语四六级考试的影响

通过阅读现有文献资料可以发现，基于四六级考试的大学英语教学改革研究是一个热点研究领域，现有的大学英语教学也的确以四六级考试为风向标，由此可见大学英语教学与四六级考试之间存在密切的联系。针对特殊专业如体育类专业，却很少有研究关注其英语教学的现状与改革，其结果是该领域的英语教学现状令人担忧。英语教师在教授该领域学生之前就已有所定位，主观认为该专业学生英语基础薄弱，其结果是教学要求的放松，殊不知这种做法导致体育专业学生的英语水平进一步退化；通过调查可以发现体育专业英语教学在进行四级课时时其教授内容还没有达到四级，且最高教授级别往往为英语三级水平，可想而知，体育专业学生英语四六级过关率低就显现的有情可原。

四、体育专业本科生英语能力提升存在问题及对策

体育专业学生英语能力较弱，四六级过关率低是内外因素共同作用的结果；我们必须结合该群体的实际，围绕教学进行改革。

1.从实际出发，弥补不足。体育专业学生英语能力弱是既定的事实，学生自身与授课教师都不应该放松要求自己；学生应该认清自身实际，不能好高骛远，教师应当为该专业学生量身定做教学计划，从基础抓起，并注重区别对待。

2.深入分析考试结构，注重方法教学。师生应当根据英语四六级考试改革变化，深入探讨教学安排与计划，交给学生学习与作答方法。

3.营造浓厚氛围，调动学生积极性。体育专业学生的转专业特色决定了英语等公共理论学习的忽视，院系要为学生营造良好的英语学习氛围，加强英语重要性教育与宣传，并为学生参与英语学习提供途径。

4.确保成绩真实性，杜绝投机取巧心理。院系不应该仅仅注重考证的结果，应当注重英语学习的参与过程，应该注重成绩的真实性；通过规章制度杜绝学生投机取巧心理。
