课堂实录:

当轻快的上课铃声响起,我开始了上课。这是一堂人物外貌的描述课,所以我用了触摸你的身体部分的游戏“touch……game”开始引入新课。

目的有两个:(1)活跃课堂气氛,调动学生的积极性;(2)检查描述五官的英语单词是否都能记住。便于开展活动时扫除学生的语言障碍,因为这些单词与人物外貌相关连,这样引入就能自然过渡到本节课的内容。做到有的放矢。为下一步活动做好铺垫。

接下来我挑选了几个有不同体型特征的学生说。

先利用图片展示进行新单词句型的引入,让学生熟悉。再按发型,身高,体重的类别进行口头练习以免混淆,重点强调容易混淆的句型。如:She is of medium height.You are of medium build.He has short hair.I have two big eyes.She has a small face.etc.加深记忆.接着要求其他同学描述三位外貌典型的同学,再小组练习。这样更形象,更贴近生活,学生更容易接受,加强了学生间的合作与交流。再按发型,身高,体重的类别练习以免混淆。当我要求学生描述自己的老师时,学生们十分激动,想着能用英语描述自己的老师了,他们特别高兴。此时的气氛很活跃。

这样完整地描述人的外表是为后面能安排、完成任务做铺垫,同时能检测学生的掌握情况,以便老师随时调控。

这个猜人游戏的安排目的是让学生通过他人的描述,去发现别人的外部特征。培养学生的听、说能力及辨别能力,同时可活跃课堂气氛。

这是一项任务活动,让学生描述自己的家人、朋友及喜爱的明星,增添他人对自己的了解。学生拿出事先准备好的自己最喜爱的电影、足球明星,在小组里轮流进行描述。然后在组与组之间进行资源共享,教师选派几名学生在讲台上用投影仪进行展示。(通过这一活动,使学生在掌握一定的英语基础知识和基本技能,能与小组成员合作共同完成学习任务,发展语言的综合运用能力,并创造性地使用英语表达自己的思想)。

设计这个任务目的在于让学生能学有所用,想象设计一下自己30岁的样子,并画出来,同时当学生做汇报时,要求其他学生认真听并写出描述外貌的句子。使课堂别开生面,乐趣横生。同时培养了学生听力、口语及写作能力。

由于学生对前面知识掌握得不错,再学习并处理书上的知识,就非常容易,学生学得得心应手,同时让学生整体回顾本节课的重点内容。

课后反思:

从教20多年,我一直在思索这个问题:我的英语课该怎样上才能让学生觉得不枯燥,并能学好知识?是天天拿着教材教呢?还是把生活及其他学科内容融入到英语教学中去,让学生多角度地去感受,去体会,在学中用,在用中学,从而真正达到学以致用的教学目的。我国教育家陶行知先生认为“教育要通过生活才能产生力量,成为真正的教育”。由此可见,生活和教育是相辅相成的。在作为语言学习初始阶段的初中英语教学中,实现“生活化”教学,有助于培养学生的学习兴趣,提高教学效率。

第二、合理利用生活资源,使教学“生活化”。图片的信息直观,现实的资源就更为形象。本课要求学生能描述他人的外貌。那么让他们来描述周围同学、老师的长相,岂不更贴近生活实际,同时也给我们的学习带来更多的乐趣,便于学生们长久的记忆。

第三、任务设计贴近学生生活,让学生动口动手。首先要走进学生的生活,了解他们的喜好才能找到让他们动口动手的关键。现在的学生都有自己所喜欢、所崇拜的明星。以此为切入口,我在任务环活动中,设计了三个任务:(1)“猜朋友”;(2)谈论自己喜欢的明星;(3)设计绘画自己将来的形象,让学生在小组中交流、合作、竞争,每个任务都存在着一定的“信息差”,因而激发学生的表达欲望和急于知道最终结果的心情,在活动中他们积极参与、努力表现自己,做到最好。三个任务所侧重训练学生的语言能力的要求也各有不同,他们分别侧重训练学生的听、说、写的能力。把任务活动放在小组中进行,还可以解决“大班额”难于操练的难题,学生在小组中有更多的时间来运用英语表达自己的思想。同时通过这项活动拉近了我与学生的距离,让他们感受到老师的关注。

第四、发挥多学科知识渗透的作用,巩固所学内容。这一节课要求学生能描述他人的外貌。这就要求学生应具备听、说能力。如何把听说能力融为一体,并且学生能很好地接受,同时还能锻炼写的能力呢?何不让他们想象一下当他们30岁的时候自己长什么样,一边描述一边画出自己的肖像。这样利用美术知识来巩固本节内容,学习的形式也多样了,岂不更好?

第五、重视情感教育。在人际交往中要让学生学会尊重和理解别人,学会交换不同的看法,了解他人的爱好,增进情谊。在现实生活中不犯以貌取人的错误。那么我们老师就应该对他们进行正确的引导,培养学生正确的人生观和世界观。在讲解图时,我就侧重强调人物虽然有美丑,但是他们却都有自己的特长,都能在各自的领域成就一番事业,让学生明白人不可貌相。如讲到潘长江,我就提到He is short and heavy, but he acts very well.He is very popular with people.同时在结束课时我增添了谚语,再次强调不要以貌取人,人的能力才是最重要的。

交际性测试是美国应用语言学家Bachman提出的一个新的交际语言能力测试模式。它是以功能语言学和言语行为为语言理论基础的测试方式, 与交际法教学相适应。交际性测试的基本思想是语言能力不仅包括词汇、语法等知识, 而且也包括交际能力, 即用得体的交际语言完成交际任务。它认为在语言运用时, 交际能力的各种因素结合为一个整体而起作用, 在语言测试中, 也应该把交际能力的各种因素结合为一个整体加以测试。Bachman的语言交际能力模式汲取了近年来语言学家及应用语言学研究领域的最新成果, 对交际能力的构成因素描述得更客观、更全面, 它不仅指出交际能力包括语言能力、语篇能力、语用能力及交际策略能力, 还指出了它们之间的一种互动关系。

现代教学模式强调学生的自主性, 注重培养学生的自我导向、自我监控和自主学习能力。2007年, 教育部颁布新的《大学英语课程教学要求》再次强调了各高校要确保大学英语教学朝着“个性化”“自主式”的方向发展, 培养学生的英语综合应用能力。该《教学要求》比2004年颁发的试行版在听说能力培养、专业英语学习、学生自主学习能力培养、现代信息技术的应用以及教学管理和文化教学等方面都有突破和创新。自主学习与课堂教学整合的教学改革改变了传统的教学模式, 确立了学生的主体地位, 强调展开个性化、自主化、协作化学习。这种新的教学模式充分调动了学生学习的积极性, 体现了英语教学的实用性、知识性和趣味性相结合的原则。

(一) 情景创设与人机交互

学习者的学习活动是个非常复杂的过程。当前, 英语教学改革的重要任务就是重视情景理论在教学过程中的运用。即创设合理的教学情景, 使学生在真实的或仿真实的活动中获取语言知识和能力。

人机交互的学习模式能使“视听练”的上机操作与班级面授课相结合, 将平面教学、视频教学及多媒体网络教学相结合, 帮助学习者深入理解和恰当使用所学语言, 视听说并进, 从而提高语言综合运用能力。

(二) 主题教学与综合操练

自主学习教学模式下的大学英语教学围绕单元主题展开视、听、说、写、译等语言输入与输出的各项活动, 并确定相关的课下任务, 指导学生分组合作, 强化训练, 通过网络、图书馆、交流等方式获取相关资料, 深化、拓展主题学习, 从而在同一话题的语言环境中培养学生的综合运用能力。

(三) 多元环境与个性选择

多媒体网络技术的应用, 给学生提供了适应个性的学习环境, 其语言参考素材丰富、信息量大、形式多样, 有技能的、文化的、策略的、趣味的、应试的等。其学习栏目设置齐全, 学习者可根据自己的水平层次、个性风格、兴趣爱好、专业要求等选择学习内容及方式, 使学习更富有个性化与自主性。

三、实现大学英语学期交际性测试的主要途径

新的教学理念要求大学英语教学要以培养学习者听、说、读、写、译各项技能的综合应用能力为目标, 更新和改善传统的学期测试方式, 确保测试手段与教学模式相适应, 做到学期测试能从交际角度出发来测量学习者对各种语言技能的掌握情况, 本着以学习者为中心的教学原则, 选择具有代表性的情景应用功能进行命题设计, 根据语言交际性特点, 提高命题的科学性, 改进现有测试题型的不足, 增加社会语言功能及语境的测试内容, 改进和完善现有的学期测试方式, 从而真正实现自主学习教学模式下的大学英语学期交际性测试。

(一) 注重听说结合

《大学英语课程教学要求》强调培养学习者的听说能力, 使听说训练相结合, 听说能力相依存。过去那种只注重听力理解及对信息接受能力的听力考试, 既不符合语言交际听说相关的规律, 也不能对交际能力进行考核, 更不能为新的教学模式提供保障。而听说结合测试不仅检测了学习者的听力理解能力, 同时也检测了他们掌握和应用常用英语的程度及口语表达能力。

(二) 加大口试题量

语言学习的最终目的是交际使用, 而交际首先是指口头交际。从社会发展对外语人才的需求来看, 口语交际能力相当重要, 可以说, 没有口语测试的语言测试是不全面的, 或者说不能称其为语言测试。口试是交际性测试的重要组成部分, 交际性口语测试具有真实性、功能性、交互性、情景性和综合性等诸多优点。

(三) 增大社会语言功能及意念测试容量

在注重语法规则的同时, 交际语言测试更注重语言的实用规则。语言交际功能要求在交际性测试中, 语法正确和语言得体并重。交际语言测试是测试应考者的语言应用能力和对语言知识的掌握程度。因此, 学期交际性测试的试题设计可根据交际的因素, 增加一些语言功能性试题。

四、结语

基于自主学习教学模式下的大学英语交际性语言测试, 从新的视角来解读语言的本质, 给人以新的认识, 更具科学性。它的实践无疑会进一步推动以网络技术为支撑的大学英语教学改革。语言教师应当从根本上改变传统的教育教学观念, 引导并激励学生发挥自主学习能力, 帮助学生创造良好的语言学习氛围。同时, 语言教师还要深入理解教育教学新理念, 依据语言测试新理念制定切实可行的学期交际性测试方案。教师要充分利用先进的信息技术和测试系统来解决大学英语学期交际性测试中所遇到的种种可行性问题, 并不断努力钻研, 发展和完善语言测试体系, 从而大幅度提高大学英语学期交际性测试的有效性和可信度。
